I wish we had enough activity here for a tools sub-forum. There is so much to discuss and share on that front. I don't know that the community is big enough for that. Anyway I want to alert you all on some noteworthy Prime Day deals:

Wera buffs: Amazon Prime Day has 20% off right now on select Wera tools. If you like what they do, can't beat the prices. I bought all my boys the portable Wera 1/4 and 3/8 metric ratchet sets. The 3/8 kit is $57 off during Prime Day, taken off during checkout. The carriers are convenient: one can pull out the hard foam and put it in the toolbox, maintaining what they call "tool control" in the biz.

Wera screwdrivers: Cheap screwdrivers suck. Life is too short to cam out on a fastener, dick the fastener up but even worse, have the tip of the screwdriver fly off the fastener and scratch something far more expensive. Wera screwdrivers are excellent - hardened tips with laser etched face to prevent just that kind of issue. This set is a good introduction. You'll never go back if you are using department store screwdrivers.

Gearwrench 120XP ratchet set: I own plenty of Snap-On, Stahlwille, and Wera ratchets. But some of my best ratchets are Taiwanese made by Gearwrench. The 120XP wrench set in my drawer gets lots of use, especially in tight places we deal with on modern cars. This is my go to set when stuck in tight places - 120 clicks unreal and quality of the tool is on par with world class choices, IMHO. 20% off during Prime Day and I recommend this complete ratchet set which comes in foam tool control.

While on Gearwrench, their tap and die kit is very nice, and also 20% off. More expensive than the average tap and die set, quality is excellent though and the drive mechanisms are well thought out. If you have used typical tap and die setups you'll see this immediately.

Anyway post others that you recommend. The above are some of the items I recommend.

Those are some great recommendations, thanks Filippo! Definitely interested in the 120XP set, that many clicks and that tiny ratchet will be very helpful.

This are what I ordered today. I'm cheap but couldn't pass these deals up, lol.

I believe you need to be a Prime member, but I have a link for a free 30-day trial to bypass that if you're not already a member.

Huge jugs of Castrol 5W-30 synthetic oil for only $22.14 at checkout! Ordered 3 so I'm set on oil changes for a while.

Subscribed. I'm going to be needing some tools here soon and am always interested to find out what brands are decent quality that won't cost a kidney. Great thread, Filippo.

@fmorelli how do you like the Wera 8100 SB 2 Zyklop 3/8? Def pricey but seems from what I have read would last a life time. Just not sure if Zyklop is a bit gimmicky or not.

The Wera stuff is good. It takes some getting used to the ratchet (it swivels and positive locks in all positions). My son swears by its usefulness. I'm not a big fan of the Wera Joker combination wrenches. That said, the 3/8" complete ratchet/socket/1/4 drive set for a smidge over $200 new is not pricey in my book. Good deal!

Also bought the Sun Joe pressure washer but it was about 2 1/2 years ago. Had an issue with the pump just right before the 2 year warranty ran out. Called them up and they sent me a replacement immediately no questions asked. So there customer service is pretty awesome too!
