I've had this problem for quite sometime and I'm about to sell the car because I've had. I'm currently throwing code 2AAF (active) and its been affecting my driving (low end and mid range power). I've been told my HPFP, LPFP and sensor is working perfectly and no need to replace any of that at all. I did replace the LPFP sensor last week and I'm still encountering this problem. My LPFP is a stage 2 by fuel it and HPFP was replaced late last year, along with 6 new injectors. I performed a ISTA/D test plan and here's what it's suggesting

Please acknowledge that there are 2 connections that are questionable that connect from the black box to the throttle body and lpfp sensor. What I mean is, that the metal clip came off of one connector last year that hooks up to the throttle body. The sensor connector (plastic tab) broke off last year, should I be fixing these issues? Those connectors havent moved, that's why I didn't bother buying new ones. The lpfp sensor was replaced last week. Don't know where to go from here. Below are a couple logs (93 pump) https://datazap.me/u/theknot83/bq-93-v3?log=0&data=3-21

Ditch the fuel it LPFP. Their venturi fitting doesn't work as designed, fuel pressure will dip and you will get 2AAF again and again. Experienced the same thing with mine except fuel pressure would hit 40s psi on pump gas which is unacceptable.

Get a bucketless stage 2, ditch the venturi and never look back. Also highly recommend you stay away from fuel it in the future as they have a problem admitting when they release faulty products.

What's faulty? Are their stage 3s faulty?

Faulty may be a harsh word. But ask they why they no longer offer TBI but for the longest they insisted that it was flawless. You can find their posts talking about how there are no problems with TBI, and with no admission that there was a problem it was just removed as a product offering. Other things (minor by comparison) exist today in their lineup, but they do put money into advancing the platform so I have no real problem with them as a vendor. As a consumer you just need to keep an open mind, don't become a fan-boi, and educate yourself.

Fuel it has some awesome products, and some that aren't awesome just like every vendor.

the venturi fitting orifice is too large and leaks pressure. their stage 3 has the same crap.

if you ask me it's an excuse to force the consumer to upgrade and drop even more money with them. like I said totally unacceptable.

I have the stage 2 lpfp bucketless version. What do you suggest I replace it with? Thank you all for your help.

Fuel It is so full of shit, do not buy from him. I had fuel pump iDrive codes forever and Steve was always trying to tell me it wasn't a big deal, etc. Fast forward to today when people are frying their EKP modules and all of a sudden he is admitting fault. There is even a post on Terry's forum where he is asking how to code out the error because somebody in the N55 community figured it out.

When I went to inquire about upgrading my stage 2 to stage 3 he was trying to upsell me on his stage 4 with his overpriced fuel rail and telling me to get rid of my Evolution of Speed one (which worked great BTW).

Now he has that new setup where it keeps your stock fuel pump but adds the Walbro 450 to the side so he can lower production cost and rip people off harder.

This is a huge problem with this platform. Vendors beta test their half baked products on you and when you try to tell them their design is shit they go full Steve Jobs on you and try to tell you you are using it wrong.

Just trying to keep an open mind here. The records I've seen all have Fuel-It products, but that is on the N54 side. What are the other options?

There are tons now days. I'm running a dual Walbro 450 setup from Black Market Parts with dual Holly Hydramats. Never had a single LPFP code thrown.

So, there's black market. Any other companies offering fueling options for the n54?

I’ve had the car since 2008. So ekp is over 10 years old. Fpr, Isn’t that the piece that’s under the rear seats on the left side facing forward? Fuel it stage 2 bucketless installed 2 years ago.

Yes the FPR is the piece on the driver's side. EKP is probably the older EKPM1 or EKPM2.

Replace both. New FPR/filter and buy an EKPM3 off ebay. I found one from a 335is and it was plug and play. If you find one from a non N54 car, you'll have to code it.

I think Omar has at least a few cars running his bucketless bracket with a single DW making over 600WHP.

You nailed it! I took off the cover and boom the smell of fuel. It’s leaking from the top. Sux because I gotta wait to get one. I’m sure the dealer wants double the price of ecs or Fcpeuro. I wish I had access to parts locally.

TBI was kind of stupid from the beginning...like a band aid fix for a shade tree mechanic.
