Testing out a set of TurboLabs Stage1+ Turbos

I'm in the process of installing at set up N54 turbos from Turbo Labs of America. They are going on my 08 135i. I hope for good results and reliability. They are a stock based turbo with an upgraded larger Billet Compressor wheel and a stock size 9-blade turbine wheel with wastegate rattle fix. More info to come.

Have VTT 2" stock side inlets being installed at the same time. Also will be putting back VRSF downpipes, DCI, Berk race axle back, ER chargepipe with Tial. For a few weeks I plan to run a stock map with FBO + inlets. Just to make sure they don't show any signs of premature failure. After a month or so I'll be running FBO+ inlets with MHD E40 otc map.

Also will give me time to save up for a 335is clutch and a Protune. Not sure the stock clutch will hold.

I have these turbos installed on my e90 n54 and they are great. I put on a jb4 and got 18psi with map 2.

I had a goal of 500whp once everything is dialed in. But I don't want to push these too hard. Will probably not push past 18.5psi. So will be happy with 450 wheel.

That's what I'm going for also, but I hope to be able to just run pump 93. That's why I'm doing the outlets and relocation, so maybe I don't need to push them too hard

500whp on regular fuel will not happen with an S1 Turbo.

As the S1 record holder currently, I know these setups very well. You will need fueling like WMI or E85 to achieve the 500whp mark.

What do you think we can make on straight 93 oct I'll have inlets and outlets +FBO? Obviously will need a custome tune.

Eurocharged called today and said they don't feel comfortable installing my VTT 2" stock side inlets. Said the gap is too big to clamp down. Said I need 1.75. I would have installed these myself if my aftermarket warranty wasn't paying for labor.

I do have something against using tbolts clamps too tight on turbo compressor housing. Especially ones with thin walls bored out.

These turbos aren't balanced from turbolabs. That's my downfall with them. Also, do not install a 2" inlet on a 1.75" turbo. Get stock size inlets.

Also @Snelson3003 - I made 500 on pump gas.

I've rebuilt and upgraded many TD04 turbos. I used a company in TX to do my balancing. Does Turbo Labs send them out?
