Since its never going to be a race car but a nice street car I'm trying to source the m3/m4 Carbon ceramic brake setup from a salvaged title.

These things are unicorns to find.

Also I was thinking of getting the wheels refinished in brushed black or brushed silver with a touch of black tint.

What do you guys think ?

here is a pic for example

Dragged the race wheels out of storage today and took some snaps, the Koya sf-06 20x9.5 and 20x11 they look tuff.

They are semi gloss black but I sort of don't mind it as I felt I made a mistake going black with the Vossen CV3-R and the car rides much more quietly on sports cup 2's than my PS4s its weird, must be the design of the rim.

Now I'm intrigued as these rims transfer far less road noise into the cabin even on semi's WTF ?

Some Tagiwa test pipes married up to my magnaflow 100 cel cats to replace my factory cats and resonators.

Free up some ponies and just a tad louder but not to loud.

Back to the February reply, don't know where you went with the wheels but the brush chrome is going to pop on that car. Takes just enough of the harsh chrome out of the picture - it's a good look. I'm generally not a fan of black wheels - with black rubber it just looks like a big hole on most cars. Your car, already being black, doesn't suffer that issue. But I would definitely consider the brush chrome. It's hard to read this thread - it just makes we want to go back and change more things about my car ..........

Hey @martymil you would know the answer to this - what's different about the 1M piston than regular N54? Part number is different but can't figure out what's special about that piston. Thanks!

The earlier n54 had slightly lower comp, wasn't much later ones including the 1m called the n54t had a slight bump.

From memory but I lost a lot of papers the N54 was like 10.2 and n54t in the 1m and later models was 10.28

Its something I read in the early days of these cars

09 and up 6 bolt crank motors

It wasn't just 1m's that got them

They still report them as 10.2 what the exact specs where who knows.

Like what differences where between the turbo chargers, they had like 5 revisions between through out the years with the 1m's and z4 35i getting the latest

Bmw just doesn't disclose the difference

The tuner I use developed the first tune for harrop and is one of the best tuners if not the best in Australia.

Its where the tuners take the cars they can't tune but he is also extremely expensive and booked out like solid 3 months in advance.

But I'm not going to bother tuning it if all I'm going to get is 20hp, just not worth it.

I would just love to make sure it's completely safe without putting strain on the motor.

Last sentence hits it in my opinion: you're not paying for HP. You are paying for insurance.
