I have the same problem. @Dreyo27 and myself are currently in the process of refining his iDrive system. We are trying different setups simultaneously, will be updating on this forum when I get mine in the mail. There are other options using a Pi as well, I think we'll hear more about them soon. For me, I'll be using the xcarlink for CIC.

I purchased a CD player mount from amazon for my tablet. It gets in the way of me seeing my stereo options, but I generally listen to my iPhone while driving so it does not bother me much.
