Starting a st n54 build!

Hi guys, I purchased my 135i about 5 months ago. Long story short I’ve always been into bmws, starting with an e92 328 when I was 16 and now I am attempting a much bigger project. I bought the car and totally got ripped off, so now this is my attempt at saving a beautiful bmw. Any advice, tips or knowledge you have to share would be helpful. Im looking to learn as much as I can, I do all my own maintenance and I’m constantly reading about these cars. I went with a speedtech top mount, precision 6266 recirculating. I know most of the extra goodies needed, and I don’t need anything more than 400-450whp as this will be my daily through a Michigan winter

Out of curiosity how did you get ripped off? Owner lie about things?

It all started when I got to buying it, I flew out of state and when I got to it I noticed a few things that weren’t advertised by the previous owner. I didn’t think because it was like fender wells destroyed from it being slammed but the one weird thing was the front carpet being wet. It wasn’t terribly wet and the rear seat didn’t feel wet. Figured he just did a good detail. From Indianapolis, I was able to drive it home to southeast Michigan no issues on the v5 stage 2+ tune. Car pulled fantastic and ran great. Soon as I got home it was parked for an hour and immediately started having fueling issues, the main hose inside the tank had corroded, then it fell off, I replaced it with a bmp fitting which solved that, however the fuel pump bucket was also cracked as he had done a hack job making it bucket less. After a good two months of fighting with fuel issues the power locks, windows and traction control started tweaking. No power locks, Dtc is unable to be turned off and the windows like to fight me. My trunk also is impermeable to using my key :). I’ve got all the main gaskets ready to be replaced as they’re all leaking, was told it had been walnut blasted obviously hadn’t. Within 2 months I spent a good 3 grand just fixing small little things here and there. Also obviously the turbos are smoking now

I have not yet, trying to figure best route of tuning it. I don’t want/need any crazy numbers as I’m going to be using it through the winter, so I was hoping there’s a way I can get it tuned and running for a lesser price then getting a motiv reflex and custom tune. However I don’t think it is a possibility
