3/18/21 - ALL sold out!

This for sale thread is for the tapered washers needed to convert the rubber bushings in the M3 control arms to spherical bearings. These spherical can also be pressed into spindle and subframe for the trailing arms without the need for any washers. I am not trying to take credit for this. I am just trying to keep this going for those still looking to do the mod like myself. So, I ordered up 100 washers and I am offering 24 orders for sale. The washers are needed at the outer guide rod and outer wishbone point.

Your order will come with four (4) washers (two for each side) to complete the job. The price is $35 shipped.

Here are a few pictures:

Washer credit: There had been a previous for sale thread here where you can find more information about the washers and their origin:
https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1781246

DIY/Installation credit: Here is an in-depth thread for those that need more information on what these washers are for:
https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=26987513

The above thread also has some great posts in there about where to source the spherical bearings: 8x Lemforder 3067901 or Meyle 3147100005 bearings... people have found other brands as well like Moog.

It also outlines the installation points for the washers:

As well as the separate kit you would need to purchase to also convert the lower camber arm inner bushing to a spherical: https://www.bimmerworld.com/BimmerWorld-Rear-Camber-Arm-Bearing-Kit.html

There are basically two for sale sections now for BMW:
BMW:

BMW ///M:

There never was a single place to sell for all things BMW, there was just a BMW marketplace and the M version was always hidden until around 2019. There is an extra click to get into the BMW forums, this is just the byproduct of moving away from some hacky custom plugins that gave each brand it's own top level exposure. It just isn't sustainable as that software never updates at the same time as official releases of the main forum product. It has a knock on effect when it comes to bugs and results in bugginess with notifications or login sessions etc.

There are solutions to this, custom ones that I control which aren't made by a third party. There just isn't enough time for it right now so you'll just need to make a bookmark to here:

Its the same thing as https://bmw.spoolstreet.com was previously, more or less.

Awesome! Thanks for getting on this, been wanting to do this myself! Just sent you payment. What tool did you use to press out & in your bushings?

PS: The new turner toe arms are a great deal (comes with lockout washers)

I have the subframe out of the car. I used a large socket on both sides and ran a rod and bolt through the middle. DIY bushing puller.

I actually have the Turner toe arms ready to go. 1 of the many things I am putting in with the subframe down. Upgrading old poly street RSFB to Condor, ECS trailing arms, just ordered an LSD to put into my M3 diff...

Ah, damnit! I meant to order a set of these and forgot. :(

Well, if you order any more... I'd love to be in line.

I only had a batch made up because I needed a set for myself but if there is enough interest I cam do another run. Dealing with shipping was a hassle to be honest so I'd rather do like a group buy style and package/ship 25 sets at the same time type deal.

I don't blame you at all. Dealing with occasional Ebay shipping drives me insane, so I can't imagine the volume you went through.

I'm down for a slot in the group buy, for sure. I've been tracking my car and want to make things more solid.

Wish I knew some other BMW owners. I am hoping there are plenty of more FB people that want a group buy. :D

Tyler @doublespaces thoughts? Can we bypass vendor on this since he's not one and not looking to be in the biz? This could help members, if @Bnks334 sets up a 1...25 list and gets 25 people in for another order.

I got my adapters, the way you shipped them is rather painful I can only imagine how long it took you to package them. I would recommend using a bubble mailer and a stick on label if you plan to do that in the future. I do like the DIY of the package though :) I had no idea who it was from at first, I figured long lost relative? Thanks again!

I once bought a pair of headlights wrapped in one sheet of newspaper.

You are saying this was packaged slightly better than that? :sunglasses:

I sent them as letters to keep costs down. Shipping a bubble mailer is just as expensive as a flat rate envelope which is about $8. A letter cost me 95 cents. It was a bit of a hassle and gamble, but, I was trying to keep costs as close to $30 as possible. These were milled in USA. I think the original guy was having them made overseas for cheap and then having a stateside family member ship them out to everyone in bulk batches. It's all a numbers game lol. USPS did rip open a few of the letters early on but I still came out ahead vs if I had to pay $8 each. $160 difference in shipping costs. The "custom" letter packaging with the Tyvek and cardboard seemed to work out well once I switched to that.

No I don't wish to be a vendor. I just needed some washers for my own car and had a batch made up!

@Bnks334 Curious since this these arms are now fully spherical do we need to adjust the hub to ride height before tightening the two arms?

No you would not need to

The difference between the rubber and a spherical is pretty massive. The wheel will droop unimpeded (so long as your sway bar isn't binding).

Someone on e90 post found some generic washers. Check the thread over there for info. Not sure if they ever verified fitment but in pms they said they would update the thread once they know for sure they fit.
