Single Turbo Coolant Feed

Single turbo homies with water cooled turbos, what fittings/kit/strategy did you use to feed the coolant into the turbo?

I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to use the oem coolant outlets or not.


To give perspective on my ideas: I’d like to ideally use the oem rear turbo coolant lines to feed my gtx3582 and the oem front turbo lines to feed the wastegate.

My motiv kit has the front port and a port on the coolant pipe from the wp to block supplying and returning from the turbo. I was considering cooking the wastegate with the rear port, but haven’t gone through with it.

coolant feed is from the water pump outlet. stock feed ports are from the water pipe to the middle of the block that usually gets removed with most ST kits. returns are below the cylinder 1 and 6 exhaust ports.

you would have to use one of the return ports and weld a fitting onto the water pipe as the supply.

Coolant plugs with -6AN or 3/8" NPT fittings for water cooled turbos and wastegates need to be "the next dual cone intake," if you will. There are plenty of intakes out there but the parts we really need, like these plugs, don't exist unless you buy as part of a kit. Some vendor needs to start making them and selling them individually. I suspect that a majority of kits use Precision turbos just because the profit margin is better, not necessarily due to simplicity. That was the impression I got when ordering my DocRace kit but I'd rather run a new Garrett G-series.
