First, I would like to take this time to thank all of the guys that post there projects here and make this such a great avenue of information for those like me that are still fairly new to this and just want to jump in.
Special thanks to a few specfic people that answered my questions time and time again without hesitation to help out.
Suspenceful, Dyezak, doublespaces, Omar@vadorsolutions and Jpworkz and PAYAM

My car is a 2012 335is 60k Red on red dct package. Come to find out from dyezaks post that my car is one of five made. This car was wrecked and pretty sure was headed to a junk yard. I saw that it was labeled as a 335i for sale and not IS according to the online auction.
I figured if I get it cheap enough I’ll give it a shot since my wife already owned a 335i it’s FBO and I loved the car and working on it. So as faith had it, bought the car paid a little more then wanted to but seemed fair and I honestly always wanted the IS after having the 335i for a few years and learning more about these platforms.
After receiving the car I took it apart assessed the damage and began hunting, ordering parts to do as much work myself as possible and save a little money.
Here are pictures of the car before and threw my process of repairs. I will keep posting as the days go by now since the car is done and running. Great! I have now moved on to a single turbo setup that I should finish in the next couple of weeks. For all those that help with all the tech support and just post new ideas big thanks once again hope you guys enjoy this ongoing build.

Nice job! I rebuilt an E90 back in 2009/2010, that was rough since everything was still pretty new. What kind of damage did you end up having, all of it in the front end?

Yea all damage was to the front pretty much and the airbags of course so new dash and side curtain air bag. Good thing was no suspension damage just from the fan forward everything was replaced and pulleys also just to be safe. Engine was fine that was my motivator that it would start and mileage was good.

That was a labor of love. It looked pretty effed up.
It was a little more then I expected but; I wanted and IS and I could do a good amount of the work my self, with a couple friends we built cars before and one of them has his own shop so Paint was not a big issue for this one, that’s why I just sprayed the entire car at the end for better finish.

Do you have pics of the down pipe?

Also how do your coils sit on those plugs? I ended up trimming mine so they sit flush.

Yes I do I can post them if you like or send them to you pm. not quite sure yet I just snapped them in to avoid dust in the plug but I am going to pull the spark plug to check just wanted to put motor mounts on first so I could really push on them and not worry about engine rocking.

I think I will end modifying it. JP runs the O2 bungs on the down pipe but i might add a flex joint to it and O2 bungs to the lower part

Hey guys haven’t posted in a few weeks ran into a few issues but; luckily getting over the last touches now.
My first issue was with the rev shifts motor mount my engine did sit a little higher and caused me a few clearance issues with downpipe and my blow off valve hitting hood since the blow off valve sits on top with the doc race intake manifold. I’m sure the phelonic spacer added to push the manifold up also.
Next was my charge pipe since it is three inch it does not clear the trans cooler so I had to down size it to a 2’1/2. The car runs now but unless I want to run with hood open and no exhaust, I will address these issues hopefully in the next week of two.
My down pipe I am going to ditch and make a complete new one that recirculates the waste gat back into the exhaust also and ad a flex joint. Here are few pics and will post more in the next few days.

Doublespaces here is the picture of my coil on the spark plug. This is how it sits. Next pictures are of a three inch coupler that is smashed against trans cooler. No way that will clear even shifting over which is not easy sinche the IS has the bigger fan and designated slot for the cooler. Next is a two and a half coupler that clears so next move to down size charge pipe as you could see in the last picture also. That worked fit rite in problem solves. Last issue is the down pipe at the angle it goes straight into my firewall and no way you could make that work. This is the reason I opted to ditch it and make a new recirculated one I will post those pictures along with the fix of the blow off valve hitting my hood not sure if will cut slot into hood brace or modify the charge pipe and clock the blow off valve off to the side. Oh and also for IS guys you will have to move the fan relay over the charge pipe sits rite in its path.

You could also consider a trans cooler upgrade. Just fyi, the stock oil cooler and that extra radiator are the same cores. I added the driver side and turned it into a trans cooler. But also worth mentioning those cores aren't very good. Can't keep my trans temps down.

Never thought about that thanks. So you run both as your trans coolers and still runs hot?

No the passenger side is still the engine oil cooler. But I converted the driver side into a trans cooler. Have all the correct ducts(not easy to find for pre-lci msport these days).
But as cool as that might be, the ppk radiator can't keep up with trans temps. This is the same core as the engine oil so now I'm of the belief they both suck. Im going to take them both out and replace them with mishimoto dual pass cores and use them as trans coolers. One cooler will use the factory lines and the other one will be on a tstat and pump using a tranny pan bung so it will be a separate circuit. The engine oil will be moved to a 72 row setrab in front of the radiator.

If you can find my build thread I've got pics and maybe some ideas.

That’s actually what I’m doing rite now. I just went over your thread again “crazy details by the way” and remembered you did that!! Wish I would of remembered when I swapped every hose and new radiator it would of been a easy swap in the proses!

Ok just started the car finally! Now just need down pipe to be finished and hopefully start driving around and start logging.
And also mocked up small brackets for the front bumper gapping issue that pleggs the e92s especially when you cut the core support for the bigger oil cooler. Not all cars will have this issue don’t know if it’s the plastic or what changes from year to the other but hope this helps if anyone has had this issue.
I angled the blow off valve location and seated as close to the charge pipe as possible. Hopefully you could see the difference in this picture from the original seating position.
