If you still want a premade fuel pump, I ordered one for my 335 from ECS Tuning. I don't know if they have it for an E60. It came in a box with BMP tape on it.

Sounds awesome! Being able to pull to the redline is key!
It sure is. When I first started with FBO mods and mhd tunes there was always something causing a misfire, low boost, overboost or some code. Bad coils and wastegates were main culprit.

The car is pretty much sorted out now and smooth running. So nice.

Now it's time to save up for new suspension components, bigger brakes and a wide booty kit.

Aye glad it all worked out! Car looks quickkkkk.
Thanks!

Pretty quick for a fatty 5 series.

Loads of torque for sure.

I'm running Michelin pilot sport 4s tires. 285/35/18 on the rear. They will break loose in 4th at 60mph.

If I turn dtc off and hammer it from a stop it's more than I can control.

Pretty nuts. I can't fathom one built and tuned for 900hp or more...... but if I find a cheap 135i, well I'll just have to.

The stage 2 plus pump has arrived......
This should help with fueling a lot. :)

Well. What is supposed to be a simple swap turned into a pain in the ass.

Drivers side fuel ring came off no problem. Pulled the filter out and disconnected the lines from the pump.

Go to the passenger side to pull the pump. Ring just spins and spins. Does not come loose. The retaining band thing the ring clamps down on is spinning with the ring.

There's a little tab on the ring that's supposed to be locked into a slot. It won't stay seated in that slot.

No idea how I'm going to get the pump out now.

Job completed Saturday.

I soaked that ring assembly in wd40 and had my kid hold the tab in place with a flathead. Came loose after that.

The car pulls hard and fast all the way to 150mph now. Before that it would start to loose ooomph at 120mph.

Once @carabuser is finished fine tuning for the new pump we are going to to an e50 tune. He's really an amazing tuner.

Pics of the car after a wash today.

Nice! So the only thing you changed to achieve stronger performance > 120 mph was the upgraded lpfp? Nothing else tune related yet? I'd have thought you wouldn't feel anything different from the bigger pump unless you were misfiring before from the smaller lpfp not keeping up?🤷‍♂️

I think so. I think the issue why it was falling flat after 120mph was mostly due to the lpfp not being able to keep up with the demands of the turbos and tune.

Honestly I don't plan on flying around at anything past 120mph. The pump feels like it made a difference off the line too as the engine isn't starving for fuel anymore.

I didn't have any misfires. However @carabuser did mention to me that the fuel delivery was struggling to keep up.

Should I have had misfires?

Maybe it's in my head is pulling more at higher speeds.

Are you tuned on pump 93 now and will be getting an E50 map made?

Almost fine tuned on 93. We're on revision 14. Once he's satisfied with the fine tuning he's going to make me an e50 map for when I run ethanol.

If you like it now on 93 you are going to love the E50 map ;)

Oh. I know. When I had stock turbos I used to run the MHD OTS e30 map. That was fun..... but nowhere close to what I'm putting down now with regular 93 octane.

e50 map will probably break my neck.
