Will this work with the M3 strut brace?

You should buy it and see how it fits. If not, return. I am in the same boat and need to know. I will split the shipping with you if you will be the guinea pig.

So a couple guys have the M3 strut bar, can you not see if the bar profile is the same as a 335? Surely if it is highly similar in shape, then it probably is the same and the bracket will work. However if it is glaringly obvious to be of ANY dissimilar shape, then it 100% will not work at least not without some changes to the design of the part.

As this thread seems to have the most interest, is there anyone with a LHD 335 interested in the prototypes on a prepay/fully refund basis for test fitting them out? This would be based on a quick effort, and ideally someone who has DCI but also has a OE airbox laying around they could flop into position for a second to also make some trial fits around it. Personally I feel with the OE airbox in place only 1 bracket will be doable, but it would help to have a 3rd party confirm. Oh and must have the OE cowl as well.

Thanks,
Rob

Just to update the above a 3rd party test fitter has been found, all updated hardware has been ordered, and all will be shipped their way tomorrow night to see how things work out in a variety of scenarios.

Thanks,
Rob

Love this! Put me down for a BMS and Mishimoto with standard hardware.

Interested in mishimoto and BMS with either hardware main concern is how long will be until can get the hardware.

I can volunteer to beta test this on the M3 strut bar :)

We had finally sent these off this week to the 3rd party fitment tester. Just a simple LHD 335 guy so far.

Something tells me it will not work for any 1 series due to the placement of the strut bar, and for the M3 bar all we need to know if it has the same shape then it will still work per vehicle model. If not ideally the shape is not drastically different and perhaps (if the interest is there) we can make another of the same part but with the shape corrected to match the M3 bar too. If it requires an entirely new design due to an extremely different shape then us making another from the ground up is highly unlikely, we put way too much time into this thing which could still end up going no where lol.

Thanks,
Rob

Looks pretty similar. Guess we will see how the test fitting goes and if well and we end up making a batch, we will get one setup over to one of you to confirm all is well. Worse case we can offer another one with a slightly different bar shape if comes down to it, doesn't seem like would take much changing around. First things first need to see how it goes as part of standard test fitments.

I was able to test fit the two brackets on my 335 yesterday. If you are looking to run a single mishimoto can for the low side, keep your cowl in place, and have easy access to drain, this is the perfect solution! Unfortunately when attempting to run two cans the cowl gets in the way. If you run no cowl this will allow a very clean solution for one or two cans. Please see the pictures below and a brief description above them. If anyone has any questions or would like specific pics ask away!

Just the brackets installed clear the cowl.

One can installed the mounting bolts hits the cowl as seen below.

If running no cowl with two cans.

Perfect location if running cowl and wanting to add a low side mishimoto can. The BMS can is too large to fit in this location and hits the a/c hardline.

Can anyone confirm fitment on a 1 series oem diagonal strut bar? The part numbers are indeed different between 1 and 3 series. I am theorizing and hoping that the only difference is the length with the profile being the same between the two. I am running a cowl delete so I believe that conflict will not affect me.

BMS does not have a different can between the 1 and 3 series so I would he 99% sure you are good to go.

Thanks for the test fitting help Blaster3500!

We have a couple tiny (primarily aesthetic) revisions to make, but this is for all intents and purposes a production setup. All said and based on the new knowledge described above, those on the list please let us know if you are still interested and/or if your order would change?

Confirmed List:
1) hiddenhorsepowergarage- Two: 2 Mishimoto setups with standard hardware
2) The Banshee- Single: Mishimoto setup with standard hardware
3) add1ct- Both: Mishimoto and BMS setup with standard hardware
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
9) derekgates- Both: Mishimoto and BMS setup with standard hardware (BETA M3 strut bar!!!)
10) Maniac0908- Both: Mishimoto and BMS setup with standard hardware (BETA M3 strut bar!!!)

Unconfirmed List:
1) matreyia- Single: Mishimoto setup with standard hardware
2) E92-Ghandi- Single: Mishimoto setup with standard hardware
3)
4)
5) STE92- Both: Mishimoto and BMS setup with standard hardware
6)
7) FRNTHVY- Both: Mishimoto and BMS setup with standard hardware
8) Lexxan- Single: Mishimoto setup with standard hardware
9)

Once we get some relative idea on the interest we can try to adjust our production batch quantity remotely inline with the demand (if any).

PS: Due to clearance issues along with the desire to keep our lives simple, we likely will scrap the bulkier thumb screw idea. For those running without a cowl they could always pick up their own thumbscrew of their liking if they should choose.

Thanks,
Rob
