For OFH you should be fine; if it were a rear/front main seal I'd stick to OEM. I've used that brand on my GF's 328 & my mini cooper commuter w/o issue.

May as well give some of the after market stuff a shot. A lot of it is decent stuff and sometimes exactly the same.

Nifty thing is that kit costs roughly the same as the two OEM gaskets I purchased (~$60), but it includes new bolts and the oil pressure switch

Im not sure if this applies to OFH gasket or not . But I am good friends with a BMW Tech and he says he has cars come in all the time with aftermarket oil filters and the aftermarket O-rings break and he's actually seen it get eaten up by the motor and motor took a shit. I would just get OEM for something like this. You don't want the gasket to break or destroy anything else..Oil flow is pretty damn important for these cars lol. To each their own tho! Let us know how it goes if you decide to go with aftermarket!

Have you done an OFH gasket? That's an impossibility with the way BMW designed the housing. It's possible in other designs, but not this one. I've actually seen someone (successfully) seal the OFH with nothing but RTV so I wouldn't have a problem putting an off brand gasket on my car.

Avoid Victor Reinz whenever possible as a general rule. They do not manufacture quality gaskets and seals.

The OFHG on these engines should always be OE BMW, nothing else will hold up long term.
