Man I was so stoked last night. Found a local with a wrecked 2012 535xi that was selling the trans with the transfer case and torque converter for 450USD.
I get there and on the back of his truck was a 6hp21.
From my research no 2012 535 F10 chassis would have came with a 6hp.
Would have been a great deal if it had worked out.

🤦‍♂️ I should have read more closely last time, somehow I missed your post was the 8hp swap thread vs. new thread. It's late, I better get to bed, haha!

https://www.lkqonline.com/2012-bmw-535i-transmission-or-transaxle-assembly/-hF4jmKcnnD depending on your location usually can find one very reasonably from LKQ. I got mine for $330 from their eBay store. Picked it up about 45min from me but they will ship at a reasonable rate too.
Here is one for the same as I paid just find your nearest yard and see what they have.

Don’t worry about the transfer case your 6HP transfer case bolts right up. Getting the F series version would be a whole other unnecessary headache on its own. Unless you were trying to be really frugal and wanted to resell it lol.

Very interested in doing 8HP swap in my X5D with the 3.15 diffs from the 50i. Should make for a good combo and give it some legs.

Anyone know what specific trans model would be ideal for that?

I have a 2008 335xi. I’m trying to make a list of everything I’ll need for this swap. I’ve already sourced a 8hp-45x from a 2013 535xi N55. So far I think I’ll need
cantcu
oil cooler adapter
shift adapter
Electronic shifter for 8hp
8hp/dct connection kit.
New filter & oil
Is there anything else I’ll need?
Does anyone know if this trans will bolt directly to my car? Has anyone made guide on how the wiring works for the new trans, I know there’s some soldering involved.

The nice thing about E-series xdrive-cars is that the transfer case from a manual/6HP fits directly onto a xdrive-model 8HP transmission, so it will also work directly without any extra modifications.
Love what you're doing with the 8hp. I'm looking into 8hp70 swapping my 335xi e90. I talked to Domi about an adapter plate for N54 to 8hp70 (n63) and they said the plate will work, but the issue might be torque converter. 8 bolt on n54 vs 9 bolt on n63. Have you had to overcome this obstacle yet or am I the only one attempting to mate 8hp/n63 to n54?

A very good question, probably hard to find answers to it. :)
In my opinion, if input shaft size matches other models (which it should do), then you obviously will want to use a gasoline version tq converter anyways because of the higher stall, and then you will have the correct bolt pattern.
Another issue remains though: making sure that the "height/depth" matches on everything so that the tq converter will fit fully on the input shaft, probably a thing to consider whilst making the adapter. DomiWorks probably has all the measurements needed to solve it and make a full fitting kit.

they used the 8hp70 converter. It’s what I planned on doing if I ever needed upgrade from the 8hp45. This guy disappeared a couple months ago not sure what happened but didn’t report any issues up until then. Depending on your goals the 8hp45 from an N55 xDrive would be much more straightforward holding 600whp for me with 130k on it 😊

They got raided by the police I’m pretty sure. Cops came after them for their YouTube videos where they show themselves speeding. And your right they did use the diesel converter. Just drilled new holes into it

Fucking Australians have no freedoms. So fucked.

Is that what happened to him? I remember he made a video saying they had '4 businesses at their address' and they had to sell everything and he is moving into his sister's spare bedroom:

He basically just said it was bad luck or something?

I'll keep you posted on what Domi says for making the kit work!

Yep if you go read the comments on his last YouTube video he talks about it. They took everything that could have footage on it.

I'm single turbo, 650-750hp depending on map, with a built 6hp21. 8hp45 would be a big step backwards.
Built hp70 with a high stall torque converter is what I had in mind.. the only problem is finding 8hp70 N57 transmissions in the US, the n63tu/ 50i version are common and can be found cheap here.. so thats what domi is looking into for me, N54 to N63tu 8hp70 adapter

"unfortunately n63 flex plate has 9 bolt and n54 has an 8 bolt crank. There is not really an easy way to adapt this unless you make a special flywheel, doable but a lot more expensive" from DomiWorks

I guess I'll search for an N57 8hp70/75 from a seller across the pond
