OBD port "removal"

Any tips on unmounting the OBD 2 port from it's mounting location in a 2016 M4? It's evident that it slides up and locks into place, but I'm unable to determine how to unlock it. I need to tap the RPM signal on pin 9 & it'd be better all around to have the plug unmounted.

Or perhaps an alternate source for the RPM signal? I'm using the fuel-it install guide for the AIC controller, which calls out pin 9.
