Whats going on guys. I have a 2011 e90 335i I’m getting my n55 motor fully built and I’m getting a custom g35-1050 turbo as well. Also want to swap over to the dct GS7D36SG transmission from the 335is. I see the f80/f82 m3/m4 also have the GS7D36SG transmission. Would I be able to buy one off of an f80 or f82 since it’s the same or would it not bolt it and it would have to get one from a 335is. Please let me know! Thank you

The N54/N55 DCT (GS7D36SG) is not the same as the F8x DCT (GS7D36BG). The ratios are different and you will have to figure out how to control it in an E-Series car. The E-Series ‘box has 7th gear as 1:1, whereas the F8x ‘box has 5th gear as 1:1.
I’m not fully clued up on whether you will need an aftermarket controller or not, but it won’t be plug in and play like the E-Series DCT. Both will bolt up fine though with no adapters.

Can tcu can control that f-series dct.
