Gotcha, I think they list them as bushings strangely enough. Did he have the harness side of the o2 sensor plug as well, or did you repin the plug and just wrap the stock wires?
We had a second o2 plug that we repinned and used corrigated heat tubing to put both the old and new wires in. Note that the pins on the DME side and the pins in the o2 plug are not the same.

Yeah, i figured they would be different. I may have to hit the scrapyard for the o2 harness side plug. I found the part number for the pins - FCPEuro and ECS have them for $2.45 a piece. You have a nice friend to bring them home - my local dealer has them in stock but wants EIGHT BUCKS a piece. Even Amazon has them for 15 for a 4 pack. I despise my local dealer.

The junk yard would be a good bet if it's from an e90. E46 and e30s don't have the same connectors. I love my local u-pull it for spare wires and connectors.

Hey @E90fanatic335, would your friend have another harness side plug for the O2 he'd be willing to sell? Here in hillbilly SC junkyards don't seem to know what a BMW is post 1999. I can't find the part new either.

The heating circuit in these O2 sensors is silly simple. If you are experiencing heating failures it is either a bad wire, or a bad ground.

People with ceramic coated downpipes are more likely to see this error.

I have been kicking around the idea of making o2 sensor grounding straps to keep these (and the more expensive ADV sensors) alive longer through better grounding.

#1 cause of o2 sensor failure is thermal shock due to moisture which is what the heating element is there for. Get the ceramic sensor hot fast so that they won't crack if a droplet of water touches them.

I'm not getting the heater codes, but a strange issue where the afr gets stuck at a value regardless of throttle, rpm, or STFT. I want to exclude wiring just as @E90fanatic335 did to see if I have a wiring issue or a DME problem.

I might crimp up a batch of O2 sensor grounding straps because I've seen 4 or 5 people with O2 problems over the last 2 weeks. @suspenceful had a problem as well but I think he's blowing his out due to them living in a positive pressure environment. Nothing related to grounding or wiring.

i have been getting 2c78 bank 2 post cat O2 sensor signal and cant get O2 readiness or heater for emissions, cleared and is always there. i had this problem last year and it was a bitch to get the O2 sensor out and actually had to remove the downpipe and step on the wrench, looked like it semi melted, had to rethread the the downpipe O2 connection. installed a used O2 sensor. tried to pull the sensor out last sunday and could not budge it, i only had like an hour to work, so couldn't pull the DP off so just put it back together. im wondering if the same thing happened again. i have ceramic DP's so this just made me think. what makes them any different with melting or eating O2's? had the car 4 years fbo and running full e85 for 3, only happened last year and now i suspect might be the same.

Liberal amount of Wurth CU800 (or your favorite anti-seize) helps.

I’m having a similar situation where I’m getting a 2c32 code with a CEL that comes on and goes away on its own. I’ve already changed the pre-cat sensor and injectors on that bank. I’ve also gone back to the stock tune and have reset adaptations multiple times. Looking to do the post-cat but wondering if it’s something else.
