Hey all,

So before this kicks off with blah blah. Going to explain a few things of the bat.

Motor is still fine, the fire was put out quickly.

There was a BMW meet, I was there attending having some fun, after the event ended we all left.

Started doing some donuts in the end car parking lot, pulled over to let the car cool, so I did my usual open the bonnet to try get some of that excess heat out.

I noticed smoke straight away and on the turbos outlet (OEM still) the heat shield Material had some how caught alight.

My theory is whilst I was spinning it somehow moved slightly and touched the manifold and caught fire.

I’m just putting this out there as warning as the gap is tiny between the outlet and the manifold, so it might be something to look out for in the future.

I had my vrsf silicone joiner explode while under boost and make me think about the amount of heat that it must get exposed to.

I thought I replied. I’m guessing you have a dry powder extinguisher?

I still don’t have one 👀

I have one dry powder under the seat, comes from bmw. It is currently empty because I haven't managed to find someone who can fill it up(after being emptied and imported). The other one is a larger dry chemical ABC extinguisher that was in my house but I bring it in the car since it's usually parked in my garage which is not far from my kitchen and laundry.
