Figure I would share my progress (still waiting on the mmp stage 3, so knocking out some other stuff before then). Used a trucool cooler, with a earls 160* thermostat and -8 lines. Made my own fittings to attach to the stock trans lines, as well as mounting brackets (obviously lol). Sorry for the horrible pics, camera lens still shattered ha. Keeps the trans cool, I beat the piss out of it for about 25-30 mins, and hottest it got was 172* (today is 78 and humid). Real test will be in the midst of summer. Also, getting rid of the stock heat exchanger, my coolant temps hover around 175-180. Winning!

I'm dealing with an issue with my setup. The cooler pipes are on the frame rail side, and it really doesn't give enough room to situate the tstat. Having to modify it to try and make it fit.

Figure I would update, after doing some back to back pulls in 80* weather, with not much cool down time between pulls temps never rose above 175ish and dropped relatively quick going for a drive. I will report back when the temps get hotter with some more data. All in all, don't see why this wont stay cool.

Nice Gasm, looks solid.

@doublespaces I opted for the Aux. radiator for my cooler as well and ran into the same type of issue. I ended up cutting the pipes, then flaring, and pinch clamping the hoses. I'm not really happy with the routing of the lines at all as I did not delete the HE and it is cramped. The TStat connection to the return line ended up tearing after some hard driving due to the awkward angle. New plan is delete HE and run aluminum hard lines. Car is getting rear bumper fixed due to a little rear end action, giggity, but will get photos up once it's back in my hands.

Did you route them downward also? If they go over the top of the frame rail, my chargepipe stuff is in the way and there is no room. I deleted the heat exchanger, and there is minimal room still. With properly angled pipes out of the core it should work, but the hoses need to be cut to the exact lengths also.

Yea man, had to have them loop downward and run across the bottom of the IC. I have an aluminum pan and am still uncomfortable with it. One wrong maneuver over some road debris and that pan will ginsu knife'em. Managed to put a magnefine filter in the line as well. Just a mess as it stands. Hardlines for the win

All the way from where it mounts to the transmission? I thought of that too but not sure how much it would cost. Having those hoses in that radiator fan/belt area is not ideal anyway.

I'll be connecting to the trans hardline via a compression fitting right near the steering rack ish area. So trans hard line-compression fitting-adapter fitting to some Earls aluminum tubing.

Costing more than I wanted but do it once blah blah cliche

Ah okay, take a photo of that and sizes of fittings when you do it, I'll probably copy that. I spent 240 bucks on those special braided hoses. Big ass waste of money now.

I used -8an line/fittings which total cost me about $120. Did you buy extra lines/fittings to cost that much? lol

Because the clearance was so tight, I had to get special fittings because the normal type was too big.

I actually called them up because I was curious, they charged me 80 bucks to crimp the lines. Bastards.
