Could one increase the secondary current when using these coils as they can with other coils? I would imagine so but i'd like to know for sure.

Coils are usually rated in MJ, because it's a measure of how much energy they can put out. Volt*amps*time. What must first happen is the spark must jump the gap, the bigger the gap and the harder it is to jump the gap the more voltage is required to do so. The more voltage used takes away from the amps and time. If you have a smaller gap it requires less voltage, and the rest is used as current and time. What makes the best burn is a good combination or balance between current, size of spark and time.
I know Alex commented on My mhd nls options post.. He had some very good points that I think a lot of guys never thought through.. Or maybe they did and didn't care but good points with science.. Ohhh how I love good science points! Makes me all warm and chubby
I'm assuming your talking about grounding kits? This engine already suffers from some shotty engine grounds. One of the most misdiagnosed "bad starter" calls..
Out of the box they will not work, however they can be made to work fairly easily.
But as BMWfixerguy mentioned, I don't recommend the use of any device that cuts power or ground to the primary ignition source. There should some flash only options available soon that would avoid those risk and work fine with the BL coils

There is actually an old ass sib about the mosfet failure.
Anyways its a chicken and the egg this but coils and mosfets are directly related somehow someway.. In the 20 or more dme's I've called cars for I would have to say realistically 18 or so always need a coil on what ever bank the mosfet failed. Considering the price of a coil in the dealer I always write my quote as
1 dme
6 coils and a min of 1 coil
Coding and labor blah blah blah lol
When I repair a dme for my clients I always return it with at least 3 used known good coils till they buy new ones or even better now upgraded

I agree on the MOSFET. But I'm not talking about the injector MOSFET. I've never seen an IGBT fail. Alex says he has and I believe him, just haven't seen it. I think every single MSD80 in existance will have the OEM MOSFET's fail on the other hand. But the injector MOSFET's are a completely different transistor than the ignition IGBT.
On MSD81 I've seen a few rectifier diode transitors fail and power supplies in the MSD80 and 81. Just never an IGBT, go figure.
I have never seen an igbt fail on an msd80 either.. Only a few n20 dme's
Either way what I'm saying is for some reason and I don't know why or have ever found out why that when a mosfet let's go there is always a dead coil on that bank. So no it's not a circuitry problem maybe heat induced
I literally had the BL website open in the other tab to order when decided to check one more time here... How the f@#$ did I miss that?!? Any solution yet? Was really looking forward to use these...
Pretty sure Jake was using the 2 step at the wannagofast event so it should be soon.
