Hi Guys,

We are introducing a new product, MHD ECA FlexFuel Analyzer QuickInstall Kit,
It's for those who use E85 in their F series N55 or S55 and are using MHD tuning.

Right now it's in Beta Phase.

It measures the E85 content in the fuel and sends information to DME thru the CAN network. You can see the E85 % reading in the Monitor module,
Once the FlexFuel feature is launched, DME will be auto-adjusting to the Fuel, whether it's pump gas or E85 Blend.

Right now, only F22, F3x, and F4x with N55 and F8X with S55 engines are supported. But the List is getting updated daily!
(only supported by MHD software)

Those looking for E series n55 ECA release - it's coming (under development as I type).

For E series with an n54 there's already a FlexFuel+ECA you may consider that was made together with MHD:

So there won’t be one available for the N54 it’s suggested that we buy the one from Motiv?

Currently the pipeline looks at follows:
- F series F3x (done)
- F series F8x (done)
- F series F22 (done)
- F series F0x (in development)
- F series F1x (in development)
- E series n55 E9x (in development)

We are not aiming to cover n54 at this point as DME is quite different, yet analog ECA/FlexFuel has already been done (pairs with Motiv FF unit). If plans are changed, we will announce for sure.

Where do the G chassis vehicles come into the picture?

G series (G20 and Supra to being with) are a different drop in bundle (engine bay location with P&P harness and custom fittings to match the stock lines). Its done in terms of hardware, but release is a bit later.

That's nice that there's an ECA, but that's nothing that hasn't been done with an analog gauge for years. Will there be DME tuning for this?

(out of the n55 game but fascinated to see someone make something new for the early ones)

Yes, all n55/s55/b58 OTS maps will eventually get FlexFuel support as well as custom tuners will be able to tune for variable ethanol.

Hi all ! How does this work with the Motive Re Flex Or is it necessary to have both installed if port injection is being used?

Hello,

Afaik Motiv ReFlex has its own Ethanol sensor integration, not sure how it interacts with ReFlex module. I'd suggest checking with Motiv and their relevant documentation.

But eventually when the reflex CAN communication is established it would be able to talk to the ECM directly so I'm guessing, if an ECA is connected to either one they will both be able to utilize the signals provided on the network, In that respect it seems that either will work the difference now is that the Reflex cannot yet use the ECAi formation provided by the MHD . I hope work on the reflex CAN communication doesn't take too long!

Not sure I completely followed the above - MHD (aka DME software) does not provide any ECA data, it consumes. As for ReFlex, I am not fully informed on the data flow, but I would be assuming it needs E content rate in order to manage PI flow timing. I am quite confident it has either RAW or 0-5v input directly from GM sensor, so MHD QuickInstall kit is not really related, as it uses sensor to supply DME with the information about E% via CAN bus, while ReFlex needs a direct input, which is being used by ReFlex as well as provided to DME for the gauge (at best of my knowledge).

Maybe I didn't explain clearly, when I say MHD I am referring to the quick install kit which places an ethanol sensor at the fuel tank and plugs directly Into the EKP harness where it accesses the CAN bus network in order to broadcast data to the ECM. The ReFlex is set up to connect directly to an E sensor via one of its inputs in order to receive E% which is required to properly scale the port injectors ONLY, whatever formation it receives it uses to make adjustments but this I formation cannot be shared as it is not yet on the vehicles CAN network. Eventually when it is able to access the network it will be able to provide data on the whole network therefore the connected sensor will service the reflex as well as the ECM, so basically what I'm getting at is that either set up will be able to provide data for control of both the DI and PI fuel systems only when the reflex can communication is enabled.

Guess we are spinning off the topic, as well as I am not informed on details about ReFlex operations, so I'd guess its best to check with the Motiv on those.
If you are wondering whether you need MHD QuickInstall Kit along with the ReFlex, well its up to you. MHD Kit is not just the sensor, but the ease of the install. Apparently its a mass product for moderate enthusiasts - and for whose with specific demands will just use ReFlex or the other options out there. As for integration of MHD Kit with ReFlex (for a compromised solution), we didn't work in this direction yet, so its not supported at this point.

I too am not 100% informed but from where I sit it seems like the MHD was designed to be used in a stock fuel system with maybe an upgraded HPFP and the ReFlex is for those , like myself who are using port injection.

Any ETA when this might release for the new Supra? I would need a flex fuel kit for this summer.
