MHD 5bar map sensor

The only harness I've seen for that is a 5 bar by ADE, and there is no temp aspect of that sensor which is why there is a split in the loom. I'm not really sure how its used though, perhaps that was part of the syveccs stuff.

Yep I have that harness, and it uses the haltech. Talking with ken@wedge he's waiting on Mattel to intergrate the 5bar so mhd will also get and accurate boost reading as well

@Martial@MHD would need to add the option to change the scaling, I suppose that is what it comes down to. I'm still curious why there are so many issues with the 4 bar sensor, I suspect they might fix that before the 5 bar is supported.
 
@WedgePerformance said its a pain on the tuning side, maybe he can share more light on the 4bar sensor issue.

I haven't done any testing with the 4 bar personally, only seen issues with customer cars. What I do know about them is they are cheap, the stem is too short for most charge pipes. People forget that most charge pipes drill the second screw hole all the way through so they instantly have a boost leak from not putting a screw back into the empty hole.

This is not to say it doesn't work on some cars. But I only recommend the 3.5 bar for most applications. I will be putting a 5 bar on my Blue e92 when it's finished. Hopefully I can verify settings so Martial can get the updates added to MHD.

Honestly, I'm seeing no point in trying to fit a 5bar MAP sensor to an N54 at the moment. The 3.5 Bar should be able to read 99% of the N54 builds we see. (36lbs of boost or lower should be visible).

However, I would never sacrifice a TMAP sensor that does read temps to one that doesn't for a bit more boost visibility. There would then be tables that would never read correctly and, as a result it wouldn't be as effective as it could be.

On to the main topic though,
I would love to see more progress on this considering the circumstances. It's a "needed for the future" type of upgrade for this platform and for that, I am excited to see it.

They fit now with AD-E kit, but he also leaves the stock sensor in place for exactly your concern. but if one wanted to go to a true 5bar he/she would need to install a temp sensor anyway just like any car with this style of sensor installed.

I had this exact problem with my car. I used the 4 bar after I put my MMPs in and I couldn't find the boost leak for the life of me. I hooked up my leak tester and had air rushing out of somewhere and it was the second TMAP hole on my ER chargepipe. Plugged the hole up and it was all good. But then like 2 weeks later I blew the sensor up when I started targeting 28 psi. Switched over to an OEM N20 3.5 bar and all is good again.

Wow that's a sting of bad luck, why where you running the 4bar if you where only running 28psi?

The 4-bar just isn't worth the trouble - leaks, tons of them were faulty, only has one bolt hole, doesn't fit ER charge pipes without wallowing out the single bolt hole on the sensor, short stem, etc.
All for no practical benefit over an easy, reliable 3.5-bar.

I'm not quite understanding why a 5-bar would be worth the trouble ...

If you have a built engine and want to make a lot of power, then it becomes necessary I suppose.

Well the 5 bar has far less issues of it leaking and yes it mostly for built engines trying to push the limits. If you goal is 600 or less no need to change just keep the 3.5 bar. I'm just coming close to maxing the 3.5 bar out and I like at least 5psi left before the sensor is maxed out
