Paradigm Engineering’s magnetic oil filter cap augments your vehicles oil filtration system and serves as a diagnostic tool. Each oil filter cap is CNC milled from a solid block of billet aluminum and fitted with a Samarium-Cobalt rare earth magnet. This magnet is in direct contact with pre-filtered oil, as a result, the magnet will naturally capture Ferrous particles within your engine oil. Ferrous particles in engine oil cause premature wear, obstruct the paper oil filter, and could be an indication of a serious issue within your engine.

For more information, check out our FAQ

Additionally our aluminum oil filter housings prevent many of the problems associated with the OE plastic caps such as cracks, rounded heads, and mangled threads.

Note: Handle Samarium magnets with care. Avoid striking, tapping, or hard drops.

Patent Pending

Why does nobody make there nut a 17mm ?
Maybe because everyone that works on these cars has a 22mm wrench [considering the strut nut is a 22], but I understand your point considering 17mm is also the wheel bolt size. Larger = less chance or rounding and better chance of using a larger wrench for eazy-peasy installation ? That's my answer.

How is the magnet attached? Is it adhesive/glue ? How confident are we that this magnet will not somehow dislodge itself? Do you see advantages of this location vs magnetic drain plugs ?
Thanks in advance for considering my question.

All the best.
