Hey guys,

I did come across a few threads on the 335is DCT flywheel causing false knock on cylinder 5 & 6. Well I'm suffering with this issue. It happens at 6,000-6,200 rpm like 1 out of 5 pulls I do I get a cylinder #6 misfire. In order for it to not trigger the fault I have to shift below 6,000 rpm. I'm willing to upgrade my flywheel, but I can't decide on the M4 or the Mfactory. I like the idea that the M4 is OEM, but I'm also not sure if my flywheel is a 8 bolt or 6 bolt. It's a 2013 335is. I did reach out to Mfactory via email, but I would like some feedback on which would be the best option for me. I guess I'm looking for something that wouldn't chatter so much and it seems like the M4 is the better option, but again I'm hoping I have the 6 bolt so the flywheel bolts right up. I searched REALOEM and the dual clutch share the same part number with the M3/M4 based on my vin, but I still can't locate the flywheel.

Eh, I just ordered a M4 flywheel I found on eBay for $210. I couldn't pass on the price. Hopefully all goes well and fixes my issue before I start pushing out more serious power with the upgraded twins.

Any n54 after 01/2009 is a 6 bolt.

I have this exact same issue as I just got back from a half-mile race and the only way to mitigate the issue was to shift around 6K.
Did the M4 flywheel fix the issue?
Also what is the benefit of switching to MFactory?

M4 flywheel is the way to go, it completely got rid of 6 cly misfire. The dual mass flywheel makes noise at higher horsepower. The issue got worse and worse for me as time went on to the point that every pull it throw the code. I had to have my tuner turn off misfire protection until I installed the new flywheel

Yeah sounds like my issue.

Can the M4 flywheel wear out like the stock IS flywheel can? I am trying to consider new vs used.
Don’t think so the reason the dual mass style makes more noise is because the extra mass gets looser. The single mass style of the s55 there is no such thing

Everything I have read says the S55 is a dual unless I am wrong. In the end I think the S55 is designed to hold more power so I will probably go used.

s55 dct flywheel is dual mass but better at not throwing those phantom knocks

The mfactory is a solid flywheel and will cause chatter but will never wear out.

I prefer oem and treat it like a disposable item

8 bolt DCT Flywheel overhere. I don't expect problems with a new one.

PS.

5 pcs are in stock at BMW HQ Germany at the moment.
