So I have the speedtech kit installed and a basic tune from v8bait to get me going. I'm running brand new ntk sensors. Injectors are index 12 and brand new. The issue I see which I never had with the twins is that bank 1 lamda sensor is jumpy and not flat. Bank 2 is similar but not nearly as bad. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe ignition related?

I found my problem, bank 1 bung was not facing the engine and it was destroying the o2 sensor.

Nice that you sorted it out! I see that you are running motiv manifold and the heat sinks. I do not have them, so this is not my issue.

No misfires, well I had one mean backfire which blew my IM so hard it even left a dent in the hood šŸ˜”

 I ordered the ADV sensors. Will give them a try.

Which ADV O2s do you guys run excactly with your speedtech kit? I`m using VAG ADVs. So far so good. But bank 1 always a bit richer then bank 2 also

Please update and let us know if the ADVs fix this issue. Its really hard for me to dump $400+ on something that could possibly fix an issue. I just want it to log nice and clean so i know when i do these half mile events im not going to melt down a piston skirt or lift a head.

Any update to this? I am having a similar issue with bank1. same story, new everything and a different tuner.
Not yet, still having the issue. Everything is new fuel and ignition wise. I have not tried different o2 sensors but I didnt have this issue till I swapped out my twins. It's been cold and wet here so have not been able to drive the car much since I'm on drag radials

This is interesting. I am having literally the same issue with my speedtech kit.

Bank 1 is acting weird. If you look at your STFT for bank 1 you will notice it is up and down which is probably causing the AFR up and down. Have a look at one of my logs: https://datazap.me/u/pysical/93-2-log?log=0&data=3-21

I am also on brand new NGK sensors. I am tuned by Chris @ Motiv and we are still pretty much on a base map 93 at the moment.

For those who had issues with the ADV sensors. I heard that some tuners don't know how to properly tune with them and was having issues. If you go with the ADV I would contact Jake or Chris at Motiv and get them directly from them. I might end up buying some if he ends up suggesting it to me.

Same Story.. new everything, different tuner, same issue.

Here is a log showing me rolling into the throttle to get an idea of when it gets bad. Once I am into boost you can see STFT and AFR get wonky in bank1.. What's odd is, bank 2 is perfect. Both NGK 02 sensors. Another point to be made, it isn't burning the sensor up, just causing it to read wrong.

Hmm seems enough of us are having this issue and if everyone is using different tuners then it comes down to hardware. One guy mentioned he went to the ADV sensors and it fixed it. That might be the answer to this. I sent a email to Jeff@Speedtech asking him about it. Want to see what he thinks and if he agrees we need to use the ADV sensors. If so I will be buying some.

I got a reply back from Jeff. He said to use the ADV sensors but this requires splicing an old sensor and using that connector. Getting in touch with my tuner to see if we can make this happen. I'll report back after my attempt.

Same thing. He also replied to me. I heard people had issues splicing and using solder. But he told me no issues.

After talking to my tuner and advising him of the actual issue, he has a few ideas to try to resolve it with out getting ADV sensors. So we will try some stuff, if anything is successful I will report back.

On the ford stuff there was a 'transport delay' we had to adjust if O2's moved. I'll bet there's the same thing that needs fixing here.
It has to do with correlating the #1 exhaust event with the time it takes for that heat/pressure to reach the sensor. It' helps with identification of a misfire event.
Not sure how BMW treats it.
Sure makes more sense that it's tune than it does a hardware issue.

I would try the ADVs but my tuner says that they have their own issues and this could be apart of the design of the kit. I really dont want to dump 400$ and cut into my brand new ntk sensors if it does not fix the issue. Its getting very frustrating and im wondering if it would be better to move both o2 sensors to the downpipe?

Since Jeff has acknowledged that this has been a issue for some of us and it seems a few (5?) of us have had this issue I don't think it will be tune. I am tuned by Motiv and they have there own ADV sensors. Chris told me they had a bunch of issues from people installing them incorrectly and not setting them up correctly. I did buy some from Jeff though and I am going to use some old O2 sensors and splice them in. He said people have done that and never came back to him with any issues. If these don't work I will give Motivs ADV sensors a try depending on what Chris@Motiv says. I will have a new log with the ADV sensors on Friday.
