That color combo looks sick. Did you do the dip yourself? What's your thoughts on that?

Yup. Sprayed it in the garage with my little helpers. That stuff is so forgiving it's hard to see where they smeared their dirty little fingers. That's only the performance series though. The performance series is the only one you can spot spray scratches and not notice it was resprayed.

The most tedious part is prep and the e60 needs a lot. Application is easy and its super durable. Peels off nice too. I peeled a panel to test it. And it won't peel unless you start to peel it.

Did you follow a guide on how to do it? Almost wrapped my car a while back but 1, I can't be trusted with Saran wrap never mind vinyl, and 2, guy showed me his 3mo old wrap and looked like it had been through a meat grinder.

Really great color man.

Thank you. There are tutorials on dipyourcar.com. It is pretty easy. The most tedious part is prep. I spent two days prepping.

Also, I did the door jambs too. You do those after the initial exterior spray.

Really? Fascinating - I would have figured you cut the jams and everything first. Just curious, you know what the reason is for doing exterior before cutting any inside edges in?

Very interesting!

I just did it that way because I masked all the exterior stuff first and sprayed in one big sweep.

Made sense that when you open the doors you only need to spray and blend up to the door outline.

Oh. Prepping to spray the jambs took me half a day. It's so tedious.

I sprayed a car a while back. Bright yellow with a black hood.

Held up pretty good. Did a decent job of hiding all the bad scratches on it.

Did it in the home garage in a plastic booth with fan and air filters.

Pretty forgiving process for a novice.

Oh yeah that will be killer.

I am realizing how much I like the 5 series now...
I like it a lot more now then when it looked plain Jane. I never envisioned it looking like it does now. When I bought it, it was only supposed to be a luxury grocery getter for my wife. Lol
