Has anyone used the injen hydro shield to cover their DCIs? I cleaned my filters today and thought about it since I had one installed in my old Acura with a cold air intake. Obviously hydrolock isn’t an issue here on the N54 but it definitely kept my cone filters cleaner. I would just remove the hydro shield and clean that with soap and it would turn out tons of dust. The cone filter would remain very clean. Thought it would be a good idea since my DCIs get dirty relatively quickly.

I imagine it would be better to just clean the filters more frequently with the appropriate amount of oil to decrease drag on the airflow.

I have the K&N version on my RB relocated kit, DryCharger. It works to keep it dry. Doesn't seem to have any impact on filter cleanliness.

You are basically putting a filter on a filter. I would just buy a spare pair of DCIs if it bothers you so much and swap them out and clean. Just because a filter looks dirty does not mean it is.
