And here's a pair of caliper brackets I CNC'd out of aerospace aluminum alloy. F8x knuckles + E46 CSL rotors + E82 Brembos anyone? :p

what's the benefit of doing the knuckles from an F8x?

I wanted "M" front geometry, which runs different ridesteer and ackermann characteristics compared to non-M, in additional to having a stiffer design, losing less camber, and introducing less bending/friction into the strut under load. I originally wanted to use the E9x M knuckles, but they run a different caliper bolt spacing, which makes it impossible to run the E82 brembos with CSL rotors. The F8x knuckles use the same caliper bolt spacing as that we do, which allows me to run the combination of parts above. Keep in mind that I am running 17s , so 345mm rotors are about the biggest that will fit, and the CSL rotors as you know are a high-quality, lightweight 2pc choice. Will also be adding ducts/scoops to maximize cooling, but more on that in due time..

StopTech 355 st60 fits on 17 apex wheels. That’s a much better setup than the e82 brembos.

Will those caliper brackets work with stock e82 knuckle for using the e46 345mm rotors?

Approx 3.4kg for the pair, with the billet aluminum bracket if my memory serves me correctly. Keep in mind that removing the counterweights off the stock front Brembos (as I have done) is worth another 0.75kg as well. Will be adding ducting to the fronts though, so we'll see how much weight we'll add back...

Pretty similar to my 2pc racingbrake rotors then.

Do you have any pics of the counterweight on the brembos you mentioned? What's the weight for? The stock E82 calipers are pretty hefty already.

The weights I listed above are a delta compared to the OEM setup. You can see the counterweights/ears mounted in the pic below. They are held on by a pair of 5-6mm allen bolts at each end, and are very easily removed. Also keep in mind that the CSL rotors are slightly bigger than stock/Racing Brake rotors as well, coming in at 345x28 instead of 338x26mm.

Did you feel any ill effect from removing the weights on calipers? Extra noise/vibrations at all? Does caliper over heat eassier/quicker? I was thinking removing them, but not sure if i should.
