How to get SMOG ready with a 3.5bar Tmap sensor? (MHD tune)

Hi all - as just a general question, how would I show my vehicle as having all readiness indicators OK for smog testing in Cali?

I assumed using MHD with "Flash back to stock" pictured below would work (provided an have a DP fix installed) but the car wont run properly.

I believe its because the stock flash option doesnt take into account the 3.5bar tmap sensor I have installed. Itll idle, but cant accelerate with cutting off. Eventually the overboost warning message comes on ~2k rpms and then it can sort of run

Instead, am I supposed to use the "Flash stage 0 (stock power) option and then from there select 3.5Tmap and OEM/catted DPs?

Thanks!

Yep, this will work. Theoretically, any map should work for you (stage 0, stage 1, whatever you normally run, etc.) as long as the O2 sensor DTCs are enabled, and the OEM/catted DPs option should do just that.

Aahh, interesting. Youre saying I could use my current custom tune (e30mix from twisted) as long as I set the tick box for OEM cats, and have the DP fix installed? E.g -Theres no reason to use stock or stage 0 maps?

Thats great news. I read a few folks saying we had to be 100% stock for obd smog test machines to accept the cars ECU results.

Thanks!

Yep, should work! One thing to note though, I’m not 100% sure on if the OEM DP checkbox actively enables the O2 DTCs, or simply refrains from disabling them at flash time. If you’re finding that the cat readiness monitor shows up as unavailable, have your tuner send you a map with the cat conversion DTCs enabled, and flash that with the same boxes ticked; that should fix it.

But yeah, no need to be stock; all they look at ECU wise for smog is the OBDII readiness monitors. As long as those are set, you’re good.
