Hey guys,

Looking for an upgrade from the standard 335is driveshaft. Couldnt find anything for stock dif.

Out of curiosity i looked at the F80 M4s driveshaft on real oem and its the exact same length(off by 1mm), has the threaded nut (same thread pitch) and the same flange on the transmission side.

Also looks as if the rear cv is offset enough to clear the tunnel.

Any thoughts on this?

That’s news to me but it wouldn’t surprise me to hear that they’re compatible
Yeah it seems too good to be true. The only two issues I can see is the lack of u joint on the transmission side, and the tri flange on the driveshaft being too large. (EZ fix with an adapter) Ive tried looking for reference media of it installed in the car but i cant find anything.

Yeah your right. How many people break the oem driveshaft? I've personally only seen it once and they broke the axles as well at the same time

I would like this because it's lighter and stronger than the factory driveshaft...and a cheap upgrade compared to having a CF driveshaft made.

I have seen a few pictures of twisted driveshafts from hard launches online.

Yeah typically its from using the wrong tires. Like a manual car using radials to launch. Having a carbon fiber driveshaft would be great though and having it cost a thousand dollars less than a custom one is good to. Probably most beneficial for guys with a lsd and upgraded axles

For me, Im gonna be dragging the car and ive seen quite a few failures at the rear joint. Im currently designing a flange for the rear nut style differential to space it out and accept a 3130 style ujoint. (If the m4 driveshaft turns out to not fit)

Well I guess it isnt going to work. I reached out to seems legit garage and they said the splines are different on the dif.

I guess Ill keep working on the spacer/adpater because that seems to be the biggest issue with aftermarket driveshafts for our cars. 😕

I’ve been able to modify it. The splines do fit. And the nut threads on. All that’s needed to be done is shorten the threads and match them to our oem driveshafts.
