EGR valave or O2 sesnors?

I've had a shitty running car since late April. I've replaced many items and since no such luck. My tuner thinks I've got a leaky injector, but those were just replaced back in September with index 12's. Low end performance and gas milage is terrible and drivability too. I haven't replaced my o2 sensors yet at all, but I'm leaning more towards doing that. I did bring it into a mechanic a couple weeks agos and he wasn't successful at fixing things. I'm currently throwing codes 29F4 and 29F5, and while using INPA the following values are off (pics are attached). I'm smelling fuel at idle at the drivers side and the car is back firing. Also, my exhaust tips are burnned black. MHD burbbles are off. What should I do? Buy new o2 sesnors or EGR valve?

The VANOS system is used to optimize timing throughout the rev range like Honda's VTEC. It's just a variable valve timing system. The N54 has no egr. The closest we have to an egr valve is our low side pcv that sucks all the nasty blow-by shit back into our intake system.

Replaced pre cat o2 sensors still getting 29f4 and 29f5, however they’re inactive. Still smelling fuel at idle, gas mileage sux and drivability sux. Where do I go from here?

I have some suggestions:
  • Get some operational logs on datazap. Post the URL for us to see them.
  • I'd flash back to a stock map and see what happens.
  • Tell us how your car is set up mod-wise, also mileage, etc
  • What happened with the car between, say, beginning of the year and April when it showed up? Mods, maintenance, daily driven, sat in a garage, et cetera.

Couple Logs...

I've owned the car since day1. I've maintained it to a T since day 1 as well. The car has all of the following mods (just pertaining to engine). In Fall of 2017 I started running E50, and since late April 18' I switched to 93 pump due to my issues since.
Car has 114,400 miles on it with original turbos. Turbos are strong and it's daily driven too.
Custom Tune 93 pump MHD (currently)
AFE GT Magnum cold air intake.
Fuel It stage 2 LPFP with E85 sensor
Eisenmann axleback
VRSF downpipes
New Coils 9/17
New Injectors 7/17
Plugs last replaced 9/17 (new ones in transit)
Walnut Blasting (2/18)
Berger Oil Catch Can installed 2/18 (no oil in can at all)
I had the clutch and flywheel replaced in 3/18. After I recieved the car back from the shop, that's when all of this started. I first started getting Fuel Pump plausibility code, I brought it to a mechanic and from there he said the charge pipe blew off when he was test driving it. He re-tightened everything up and made some adjustments to some engine pipes and hoses and test drove fine after. That code never came back for a couple weeks until a map revision was uploaded by tuner. For 2 months I ignored it because Steve from Fuel it said it was normal, especially with running E50. He checked my log and was good. I also replaced the fuel pump regulator and LPFP sensor too.
In early June I brought it back to the shop where they did my clutch job. They replaced some hardware pieces for the shifter and checked for any issues regarding to my symptoms I've been encountering. Mechanic did a boost leak test and reviewed everything, but not sure if he did a fuel leak test. Nothing came of that visit. A week after codes 29f4 and 29f5 started showing and still are present til this day. Thursday I replaced the pre-cat sensors and issue is still present and codes. I'll switch back to factory map tonight and see what happens.

As far as your codes go, here’s what I have in my database:
29F4 29F5:
29F4 Catalytic converter conversion
29F5 Catalytic converter conversion 2
EXPLANATION: Cats removed or damaged.
FIX: Reinstall or repair cats, it is illegal in the USA to drive without them.
*** THESE CODES WILL NOT NEGATIVELY IMPACT VEHICLE PERFORMANCE ***

This is not surprising for your stock map, since the stock map keeps these error codes toggled to be on when the “error” is present. Your tuned map probably had them toggled them to be off. But like it says, these codes will not negatively affect performance. So look elsewhere.

Have you tried resetting all adaptations?

It is the other way around, adds exhaust gaz to intake air by opening the intake valves while the cylinder pressure is still a little bit higher than intake pressure. At least if i remember correctly, it is also what burns the oil and turns it into carbon deposit.

I've reset throttle and fuel that's it. On MHD just reset all adaptions, just reset all on the list? Car still smells of fuel at idle and same crappy low end performance with the factory map.
