From Tom @ EAS:

Just wanted to share some baseline numbers for a new 2020 Z4 M40i on our dynojet. Peak numbers are 381/381, closely matching BMW's BHP ratings.

* Numbers are at the wheels, on 91 octane.

I'm confused, the M40i is rated at 340 crank hp. The dyno chart states no modifications and the blurb from Tom states that the number closely match BMWs figures but then goes on to state 381hp at the wheels.

Not sure where you got 340 crank hp, when BMW rates it at 382hp, which we all know is usually WHP now-a-days.

This is where I got the 340hp figure from, straight off the BMW web site, and that's most certainly a crank figure:

You must be from Europe? European cars are detuned compared to the North American cars. We get 382hp, and it is most definitely at the wheel, as almost all of BMWs horsepower ratings are as proven by countless dynos of stock cars.

That explains a lot. Must be the GPF they have to fit here, which explains why the MHD Stage 2 power jumps so much over Stage 1 as it assumes GPF removal.
