Starting working with Barry on the Öhlins 3DM Motorsport kit for the E70 X5. There are some custom components that need to be made. We spent time today on the spring rater and with factory parts to get measurements and fitment information. We will soon have several "kit" build and go into testing. This should be a big improvement for the X5.
We are setting up two versions of the dampers - with custom springs which lower the X5, and with OE springs. Dampers will be mated to the spring configuration as part of the development work (shock dyno, etc). I'll post some photos when we have the first test sets built. Fingers crossed!

Any updates to this Filippo?
We put this on pause, as Barry moved from Annandale, VA to Kernersville, NC. Just closed on the new home (with spare garage!) and the business is settling in at its new location. I told him we're not touching this project until everything is smoothed out. Pick back up in a month or so I imagine.

Nice. Plan for 4 corner or is it going to be for the cars with rear air.

Perfect. Specifically didn't source a truck with air as it's a pain to maintain long term.
They do require additional maintenance, not just repair. Specifically the desiccant needs to be replaced with reasonable frequency, especially in non-dry climates.

For folks towing, I know they have added bag setups, not even particularly expensive, and have worked well.

Just curious if any further development was done?

I have Koni Special Active on my X5 and I do not like them.

No further progress yet. Barry moved, then I went into mid-move. It will happen eventually.

Weird I just installed those dampers with M5 bump stops and Vogtland springs on all 4 corners and feel it's a great combination for such a heavy grunty pig like the e70X5D.

Does need a bigger rear sway though, that's next once I get my 20x11 wheels and 295/45 square setup mounted.

That said, definitely waiting patiently for the Barry setup. We prototyped the 1er hybrid RT/TTX on my mutt and it is out of this world, can't wait to see what he comes up with for the X5D.
