Hey all, I am developing a single top mount kit for the e60 and wanted to get the general consensus on what you guys are willing to modify to get the kit to fit. It’s a lot more involved over our standard N54 kit. The abs module and the ac line are the two biggest concerns. I have been poking around to see what e60 guys are doing and it looks like they just shove the module down into the plastic wheel well. I would rather have a new set of lines built to fit, but it would add an additional cost to the kit. Is this something e60 owners would be interested in? Here’s a quick teaser pic.

I know I got up couple 535 guys one xi one I planning to go single turbo when there twins give out id imagine they'd be interested in having the abs relocated. Are you able to fit a turbo filter on with relocating the abs module?

My friend group with a couple E60 owners is pretty split between these two choices being their preference:

- Make the kit where the turbo, downpipes, and wastegate dump* all work under the assumption that the ABS module, AC, & associated lines will be moved by them. They would like a solid write-up on where your design dictates to put them, but can handle the act of moving it (aka brackets & lines) themselves.

* = (that is ideally made to make it possible to recirculate the WG dump when the novalty of the screamer pipes wears off)

- Make the kit the same as above, but include the brackets & new lines.

We all want to use our own choice of turbo though, but would be interested in seeing multiples fitted to your kit when you get there.

Really the biggest hurdle IMO is getting the downpipe & WG dump pipe to fit without sawing a hole out the hood lmao

Are you planning on a 3.5" downpipe or 3"?

plus if you are really cheeky, would putting a 2 - 1 merge right off the back of the turbo then twin 2.5" downpipes be a solution to the tight clearences between the engine & the passenger side walls? might be the stupidest thing I have ever suggested, but then you could potentially sell a kit that would bolt up to the stock exhaust lololol

I imagine he can use a downpipe with a flex in it like doc race and bolt up to the stock exhaust no issues.

Bottom Mount log style
But haven't you said you've yest fitted the ces and it hits the motor Mount? I don't see e60 platform having enough demand for it to make sense for a vendor to spend so much development on a kit maybe a handful of people will run

Yes CES Kit does not fit. That's why a new log style mani would need to be made.

Although u are right the demand for the E6X ST kit is prob so low not sure it would make sense. But if I was to get one (I'm Not) def bottom mount kit that works.

Wrong side up, needs to be on the bottom. Also that's the China Manifold (Now modified) I remember back in April.

I was going to buy like 5 sets of those manifolds until the alibaba suppliers all of a sudden wanted me to buy 20.

Its a nice kit, and about time one made it out the door, but being an e60 owner, that whole side is a pain. I lower mount, we’re maybe a motor mount may have to modified to work will be the worst case. With ac line, and abs removal, most may not be inclined to do a m5 relocate, or rent find, make and resend out a ac hose that needs to be moved. If it’s about simplicity, a bottom mount and down pipe is really the best way to go it looks like your going to need 2 miles of heat wrap th stop the right side from melting.
