DME Removal

Does anyone have a DIY on removing N55 DME?

It's a good excuse to install port injection while you're there or walnut blast. It could have been in an easier spot for sure.

What is walnut blasting? Is it like port polishing?

Walnut blast is cleaning the intake valves and ports. Direct inject engines can get build up on the back of the valves. Many owners of N55s say they don't need it as often as N54. Mine was pretty clean at 50K but I did it anyway while it was apart. You can do a search for N55 or N54 intake walnut blast and find all you need to know.

This diy video is F-series, however shouldn’t be too different.
