Was wondering if there’s any chance or reason to be worried about taking my 2015 m4 to the dealership and having them “update” my car and locking my dme from flash tunes. As part of the service. Trans light just popped on, which is why I’d be taking it in. I just bought the car and it’s currently stock. But plan to flash it in the near future

I personally would not want the DME locked. Why do you think that is what is going to happen?
Do they charge for the update? I bet they do.

Yea I personally would not want it either. I just wonder because it happens all the time on different platforms. I thought I read about it happening with the 340’s and Supra’s. All the new cars are locked right now and can’t be tuned. You go in for a service and dealer updates your software. The software locks the DME from being tuned. Was just wondering if anybody has heard of this happening for the m3/4s at all. Since the new g80/82 are still locked down like Fort Knox lol
