The board is glued down and any attempt to remove it will likely crack the board. For a maybe I’m not prepared to do that just yet

Yes, I'll try to apply heat and see if I can get it out without damaging the cables.
We'll see :)

It looks like silicone based heat compound however it’s set like glue and doesn’t seem to be too worried about temperature as it would be designed to retain its physical properties even under these circumstances. My guess is that it will require removal using mechanical means and likely destruction ☹️

Yeah you're probably right, they wouldn't use anything with low resistant to heat in that spot
But I'll try :)
