Custom Tune Issue (please advise)

Last week I finally hired a tuner, but today he seems to be stumped. First two custom files were sent through out last week. Those maps he sent me made my car run much much better and I had no problems at all through out the week. Now, Friday night he sent me the third custom map 3 and since I've been misfiring (cold and warm engine). The first log I attached was from last night and I misfired 3 times in a row, then I stopped log. This morning on my way to breakfast (car was cold) I was waiting for the light to change, and when it turned green I got a couple misfires during acceleration. My tuner has reviewed my most recent log and he's stumped and can't figure out why the car is misfiring. I don't know what to do and having OCD imakes a problem like this much harder for me. I paid the tuner last week, and if I tell him I had someone else look at my log and he found the problem in seconds, all hell is going to break loose. Please review my log and any input on how to get out of this mess would be very appreciative.

NGK 5992s istalled and gapped to .020 (3 weeks ago)
Coils were replaced within a year ago
Injectors were replaced in May of 2013.
E45-E50 range with 93 octane.

Did your tuner suggest reverting back to one of your previous tunes, custom 1, 2 or even an OTS map? Doing so would let you learn if the symptoms are triggered by the map or by a mechanical issue.

No, he didn't suggest that at all. I'm going to revert back to map2 and log.

If it's only on a cold start it could be a leaking injector that has made the plug too wet to initially spark. I'd suggest in the morning while everything is cold to pull your plugs to see if any are wet and black. A small leak won't show any real signs in logs either.

Could be something else, but missfires are either coils, spark plugs or injectors.. in most cases

I would check coils just because you changed them within the last year dosent mean much. Depending on how much boost timing etc. This is where i would start is it on 1 cylinder or multiple cylinders with the misfire?Are you throwing coded when it misfires?

Hpfp causes misfires when it crashes. Also long hard cranks when starting is a classic symptom of hpfp failure. I would say, get a new hpfp and log again. Then I see the logs are in map 2. You dont need a "custom tune" for map 2. Really, only in map 6. If running e85 blend you could use a bef. They are free. Also the pump flash if on pump gas, but your trims arent anywhere near maxed out. FF is at 145 though, but I would say swap hpfp and log again to see where you are at with it.

A backend flash is useful either way. More overall flexibility over the user adjustments. Whenever I had a JB4 the user adjustments were great but, dialing in everything from Vanos, load, timing, etc can most effectively be done via bef

Yes, but as I said, pump flash, e85 flash, no custom tune needed for low psi target and running a pre defined map such as map2 IMHO anyway. Lets keep it simple. If I were in op's shoes, i wouldnt pay for a tuner to tune unless I was fbo, 3.5 bar tmap, over 21 psi. Or greater/ more mods/ bigger turbos/ etc. Jb4 was designed plug and play but of course has versatilty to go beyond.
