Coolant overflow tank Question

I checked my coolant mix by taking a sample from the coolant over flow and is little too much coolant,I was thinking about siphoning out the overflow and filling it up with just distilled water,if I do so would it circulate through the engine once warmed up or no?also do people do this to dilute the coolant alittle?

Yes that shouldn’t be a problem. Coolant in the tank circulates through the block and head as well
