Boost Box and ADV Sensor Issues

I recently switched to Boost Box and got a base ACN 91 map running on WG spring (~14.5psi). I am getting some codes (2C3D, 2C3E, 2CAA, 2CAB) relating to both front O2s. Those are ADV sensors that I had no problem with JB4.

The map given to me had N20 tmap, tables for ADV so none of those were checked in MHD. While I'm waiting on a reply from Jake and Chris, I'm just wondering if you guys had a similar experience?

There's a guy named "rac" that pulled some pins in the DME harness. I found a thread elsewhere and here's his quote.

So I can update this thread and close it out, hopefully it saves others and this learning can be shared amongst other potential ADV users.

Special thanks to sch4400 for posting his finding on bb, and Chris K. for support.

My ADV sensor harnesses were extended by using not only the OEM wiring, but also the OEM connector. The OEM connector is not as simple as it looks and despite only 5 wires coming from the ADV, the unused pin (Pin 5) feeds back to the DME preventing fuel cut AFRs reaching full value of 234.95.

I tend to break these connectors before I work out how to open them.. so I found the corresponding wires back the DME and unpinned them there (pins 5 rear bank & 18 front bank on small black subconnector). If anyone decides to do this, be sure to check the lines with a multimeter just don’t take my word for it.

Now to get onto the fun stuff...

I also have a 3rd gear log that triggered the codes after clearing them:

Have you extended your O2 sensor harness? If not, I don't believe any of that applies to you. I have Boostbox v1 and v3 as well as ADV sensors without the box checked in MHD with a custom tune. No issues. Try checking the box, although I think that was more for JB4 guys who don't get their values baked into their tune.

No extension harness. I was told not to check the box as it was more advanced baked in. N20 was also baked in.

Hoping is a coding issue. Does the log look good? The O2 seem to flatline around 12.4ish

your lamda and fuel trims data are just flat lines. were you in open loop?

you need to do watch out about the those timing corrections btw...

do check the DME pins if you have touched it recently.

I hit these codes as well. Jake says he can code them out in the tune. I just keep clearing codes in MHD until I get updated tune

I used a stock connector, not the one supplied with the adv sensor. That is what my solution was about.

that I doubt is real. Neither channel being logged is reporting back the real Afrs. Unless your confident about your fuel scalars take it easy on the right foot until you get it sorted with Chris.

I'm just here to comment on the wiring. Do not blindly trust newtis.info or ISTA+ diagrams. In other work I have been doing I found flaws in their wiring diagrams. Double check continuity and be double sure of any wiring work you do.

I had the same exact issue. Check your wastegate lines for leaks. Your 6 psi under target but your WGDC is 100%. Whenever I had those O2 sensor codes with the ADV sensors i had a boost leak in the wastegate lines.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. It helps me become more paranoid. Haha. Anyways, Chris sent a 2.0 map that solved the ADV issues.

Setup is Motiv750 on ACN 91, Boost Box, non-active PI and non-active secondary LPFP as I'm waiting on the Hobbs switch. Also waiting for MHD to get the FF update out.

I'm worried about those timing corrections...

You might want to look at your ignition/plug setup.

I got NGKs with Delphi coils. Got an update from Chris that fixed the drops.

Glad you're on top of it. Any idea what he did to fix the drops? Would be insightful for others (like myself), even if the drops aren't as bad.

He lowered timing by a degree and limited me to 13psi. I'm asking for an 18psi to see how that works.
