We just finished up installing MILVS on this 128i. This is such a great modification for the N52 platform. We were able to get it strapped to our dyno to perform pulls but after two pulls one of the DISA Valve flaps had failed. The customer is getting a remote tune after upgrading to the N54 intake manifold to delete the DISA Valve flaps altogether.

I have read very briefly on this subject before, what are the gains for this modification after an appropriate tune?

With our tune and MILVS you would see between 23-26+whp. Automatics would see a lower gain due to the extra drivetrain loss.

The MILVs are a pretty cool mod.

They add just over +1mm to the intake valve lift on Valvetronic engines. 9.7mm stock max lift to 10.7-10.8mm and 2-3* duration.

Unfortunately due to the geometry mechanism of the Valvetronic system, increasing valve lift by any other means is impossible.

On the naturally aspirated N52 they add 8-10 rwhp across the whole rpm range.

They will also work on the N55 Valvetronic intake.
