Hey everyone! I've been in the middle of a build for my '13 335is for quite some time and its finally all staring to take shape. One of the last things I need to complete everything is a new DCT oil pan, as part of a complete servicing. I had been looking at several options but was a bit hesitant pulling the trigger due to the price (and the amount of $$ I was throwing at everything else on this damn car).

A couple weeks ago I saw a post in the BMW DCT group on fb from the owner of Seems Legit Garage about their new billet DCT pans. I checked them out and they seem pretty sweet and come complete with a Viton pan gasket and stainless hardware. Sent him a message asking if we could do a group buy and he said definitely.

$600 shipped for the "big momma".
$525 shipped for the "mini me".
Includes Viton gasket and stainless hardware.
Quoted 3 weeks turnaround time.
**ALL PANS IN THE GROUP BUY WILL BE ANODIZED BLACK**

So who's in? :D

**GROUP BUY CLOSED 6/22/20**

GROUP BUY LIST (minimum 15 buyers required)

**If you have not done so already, please PM me with your email address and to confirm your pan selection**

Our flagship pan, the "Big Momma", is a piece of art built from billet 6061 aluminum. It is CNC'd and designed in the USA. It will also come anodized gold like many of our other products! The prototype shown is just normal bare aluminum. The anodizing helps stop any possible corrosion, and looks amazing!

Overall height of the "Big Momma" is 2.0" compared to the OEM pan which is 1.25" at its deepest point. Holds 3000mL of fluid compared to stock opan which holds 1150mL.

The "Big Momma" pan is full of the following features:

  • Reusable Viton O-Ring gasket. No more leaks or expensive OEM gasket replacements!
  • Proper drain plug with magnet
  • Super-large capacity pan, 2.25" deep, for more capacity and heat capacity
  • Huge cooling fins both inside and out for maximum heat dissipation
  • Large fins inside the pan to act as a pan baffle to reduce aeration during hard braking, acceleration and cornering
  • Threaded boles in the bottom so you can screw in hardware and slide the transmission on the ground without damaging the pan
  • 3 different bosses of proper thickness to tap and thread to suit any ports or temp sensors required

The "Mini-Me" Pan we offer is very close to the same size as the OEM pan, for maximum ground clearance. This is great for small cars with the DCT swap. Still features the Viton O-Ring and instead of colling fins, features a bullnose finish for increased surface area inside and out for increased cooling capacity without decreasing ground clearance. Holds 1500mL of fluids compares to 1150mL in the factory pan, all without going past the 1.25" depth.

I’m in for big momma pan, prefer red or black. I have fully built SSP 1000+ dct trans with mfactory single mass race flywheel.

Do these come with an extension for the oil pick up or is that not needed? I think I remember a different pan (slonik I think) that cane with an extension.

Same pan in the Z4 for anyone interested. Next I'll get it up in the air and see about room for a deeper pan.

The description above gives two different sizes for big momma. Is it 2" or 2.25"?

I've noticed that too. I can't say for sure which size it is, but I'm not really worried about .25"...that may be a different story if you are DCT swapped into a completely different car tho

Seems this product is missing the three outlets for oil cooler and thermostat that the ssp type has.

  • 3 different bosses of proper thickness to tap and thread to suit any ports or temp sensors required

Sounds as if it has outlet ports. But in any case, the oil cooler lines run out the side of the DCT, not the pan

2 or 2.25 may be the difference between keeping the undertray or cutting it away.

Fair point. I have heard of people who run larger DCT pans simply cutting the under tray in the shape of the pan directly underneath it, allowing them to essentially retain the pan everywhere else

Without the pickup extension you may get oil surge. I don't know if its as serious as it would be for an engine pickup but I doubt it would be ideal

Does anybody know where a pickup extension can be purchased? Wonder if it would be worth it...
