This is a drivers side door hall sensor or heated mirror. I am pretty sure it's the hall sensor because I have a door comfort access code that accompanies it.

Sometimes the door doesn't unlock immediately when you grab the handle.

Anyone know where the door hall sensor is?

Thanks!

I thought that was an antenna? The E60 has 5 CA antennas I think.

I wouldn't expect a hall sensor to pick up the key fob from 1-2feet away. I have had all my doors apart and only recall seeing the locking mechanism in there. The CA part of the door is the actual handle.

Doesn't your car unlock itself when you reach for the handle? There is a sensor in the door that detects the proximity fob on you. That's different from the unlock button on the fob that uses a transmitter.

Right. That function works via 2 different things.

The fob is sensed via the CA antennas and the door unlocks via the CA handle.

Hello, did TheFixer solved 9cc5 code? I have same fault, i can't fix it. I worked on my rain light sensor all the time, trying to solve this code, not hall sensor like you guys was discussing.
Ps. Glad you saved your e60 after rear ended.

I never fixed it. I don't think it's anything critical so I just ignored it.
