Has anyone thought about doing an air to water intercooler with an ice chest? I know the new BMW v8 twin turbskies have air to "water" intercooler boxes

I've seen a photo of one N54 that had it done but packaging constraints/inefficiency outside of single pulls have been the main reason the pursuit had faded out. If you're up for the challenge I think I good place to start would be the B58 IM.
Thanks I'm looking more at a custom setup rather then retrofitting a factory one, I want to do a ice box in the trunk, obviously it'll only have ice when doing actual pulls and just water while street driving. Also retrofit a ambient air cooler to the front
@AD-ENG has an A2W setup but its not for the faint of heart. I've discussed it multiple times but tied into our AC system, as our heater core can be repurposed very nicely. The problem with any A2W setup with our cars is packaging as you have double the hardware. I thought about using a barrel style core in place of the chargepipe. The problem is they are all just a little too long.
Are you intending on ripping out the existing A2A setup like most people? If so, this shouldn't be too hard since you've got the extra room where the FMIC goes.

It would be nice for a drag car where you can put ice in a recovery tank between runs
Oh god, here we go again. Sure if its a full blown race car running an ice tank like Andy is building here. Then its worth it. Streetcar, unless you have no possible way to mount a FMIC you are adding weight, and complexity to the system for no real benefit in cooler IAT's.

Honestly it's not that complicated of a setup, plus doing meth injection wouldn't be as a big of a benefit as a a2w would be, plus I've ran meth injection before and didn't get great results from it, it's the water that cools the air in meth injection. The car is mostly a weekend/drag car at this point and will further turn into a drag car only I'm just looking at options now instead of figuring it out at the last minute
Running out won't kill the engine, it's the injectors failing open that will blow it up haha
There's no benefit while driving yes but when it is track day it's perfect, there's a reason why majority of cars in drag week have this setup works while driving and no down fall besides a little more weight

So he's got a heat exchanger up front with fans? In addition to a trans cooler up front, an oil cooler in stock location and then he apparently also keeps the PPK V2 radiator on the driver side... Interesting. I'd like to see how much that actually helps, but I can't help but think there are cases when his IAT is actually worse when not using ice, not to mention he had to customize pretty much everything. Not for someone like me who likes to keep factory fit and finish.
