Is anyone running the Ade 8.8 full kit on a manual trans 335? By no means am I doubting this kit, I'm simply looking for more evidence the car will hook better.. time slips? Speedo videos? Anything would be appriciated.

Planning a new 3 series build starting with drivetrain before the engine.

If you're looking for it to hook better, start with a small rear brake conversion, drag shocks, and a 15" tire/drag radial. maybe an LSD if you have the budget. Leave the stock springs in.

8.8 rear end conversion is so you can actually balls-out launch it without the ring and pinion exiting the diff pumpkin lol

... I know what it's for that's why I'm asking for information on it from people that have it installed. Looking to achieve real 60' times lol. Last car had M factory LSD looking to get more serious this time

The M3 diff with aftermarket lsd is a good upgrade for the cars, if it's not enough for your goals the 8.8 is about it for the next step.

I think @Chris@VargasTurboTech has said in the past they have been running an M3 diff in their car abusing the snot out of it and never had an issue. For a long time nobody (that means nobody) was making more power than VTT. So that says a lot about the M3 diff.

Just a heads up, while the M3 "M Variable" clutch type diffs, are wonderful for road course use. They do not like high powered straight line use. I know this because I already burned one up, with very little miles on it. Its an easy fix, just get the 210mm wavetrac LSD, and swap it the M3 diff. This also requires stub axles. Once you do this, the M3 LSD swap is truly bullet proof.

Yep and yes. We burned up the stock clutch type near 800 whp. I'll most likely put a stock M3 diff in for my street car build around 600 whp.

So forgive me, how cost effective is an M3 diff and aftermarket LSD? I know you get slightly stronger axles and shaft/pinion, but it seems like a lot to spend? What is the cost of the MFactory axle which I'd assume is a similar strength and an aluminum drive shaft?

I think a lot of people have been doing this before the ADE 8.8 option was available. It is probably a wash in all honesty.

No point getting upgraded axles with the 335i diff even with a lsd. the joint between the diff and driveshaft will snap next.

$$$

That is why I mentioned an aluminum drive shaft, so that combined with lsd and axles gets you a solid setup. When the power output was lower, I can see where the M3 rear end fits in. But as soon as you replace the M3 diff with an aftermarket one, I think the value gets diminished when compared to doing what I've suggested or the 8.8 as dyezak mentioned.

According to DSS the E series doesn’t have adeaign that is conducive to using a one piece aluminum driveshaft. You either need a Caron one piece or an aluminum two piece so says them.

Hmm. I suppose making it a two-piece would increase the price quite a bit? No wonder Andy made the 8.8, the options here are underwhelming.
