Yes. In my case, It was a morning cold start; car ran rough and I could smell the burning scent - I shut down the car grabbed my extinguisher but I must have shutdown before it really got started. Got burnt wires from it.

I didn't remove the little bit of thin metal from the middle bit of the coil above the rubber boot.
I wonder if that prevents this in some way?
I can't think how right now? Maybe by allowing a stray spark to arc away from the coil?
Wonder if there was a problem with the harness though?

Right. So I went through the lovely process of swapping injectors. 1 with 6, 2 with 5, 3 with 4.

Low and behold misfires on cold start now shifted from 3, 5 and 6 to 1, 2 and 4.

For some reason though I'm getting the 2ABD code every time.

Brand new 3.5 tmap installed.

Might have to pull the charge pipe and take a look.

Could 2ABD cause misfires???

I think these new index 12s are bad so I'm trying to return them.

A quick question.
What should boost mean be reading at idle?
Does about -3.2 psi sound correct?

I assume if it's reading 4 psi then it's because the tmap is not correctly set?

I'm getting 2ABD boost pressure sensor overrun nearly every time I power the car on.
I have checked the new tmap and used contact cleaner on all connections. I've checked for continuity on all the wires.

Thanks

Well I'm a bit baffled.
I've tried various flash tunes. With and without 3.5 bar tmap. Even flashed back to stock.
I have a jb4 installed. I've always had it set to map 0. I've tried option 4/2 and 4/4.
My boost mean is always either 4 psi or -3.3 psi during idle. Explains the 2ABD code.
I'll probably pull the charge pipe, check the diverter valves. If it's none of those I'll probably remove the jb4 completely. I do want it in future for methanol flow.

As I'm using my stock flash I'm assuming this isn't DCT related?

My car is DCT but IJE0S.

You don't want a JB4 anywhere near a DCT.

You also want to run the proper ROM for the DCT so just use MHD to flash back to stock. It should be INA0S.

If you start from a known good position it will help troubleshooting. Having the stock tmap sensor and the stock ROM installed along with any dodgy DME wiring removed like the JB4.

Hi Carabuser.

Yes. I've flashed my stock bin. As my car is a European 335i with DCT, my DME is IJE0S.

After alot of trial and error today, I managed to get boost mean reading 0. I have my jb4 in map 0 (off). Due to it being in the DME it's still manipulating the signal. With tmap = 1, boost reads 0, when the oem tmap sensor is selected for flash. I have the jb4 is gauge mode only. 4/4 option. If I flash with 3.5bar tmap and tmap=1 in the jb4 then it reads 8 psi at idle. It was all very confusing.
I tried flashing a tune I have. No matter what tmap settings I set in the flash and jb4, I couldn't get it to read 0 psi at idle. I've tried all combinations I could.

I think I will have to start with slowly modifying my stock bin file. I have 19T turbos. I want to run on pump fuel and around 14 psi until I'm happy the car is healthy.

I also have XHP stage 3 installed for the transmission.

Once I know the car is healthy, I plan to start using methanol injection again for more octane, higher boost and more timing.

Thanks.
