I've read a lot and a lot of people say its too hard or not feasible, but if I believe if you can build a bottom mount single, then the space issues should minimize, wondering what you guys think

The manifold,,and turbo will fit. The downpipe will need tweeking and the abs module may be a restriction on your choice of air cleaners.

I believe all manifolds will fit but everything around will have to be relocated or readjusted.
Im running the infamous JP Works kit on my e60 535I top mount 6466 and pretty much had to modify the whole kit. From replacing the fake Mac solenoid to milling the t4 flange on the manifold even.
You can make it work, just a lot of work.

what did you relocate? did you relocate the A/C Line and coolant reservoir? I believe that is all that is needed?

Very interested to see pics if you have some you don't mind sharing. How much power are you making?

yes both a/c and coolant reservoir has to be relocated. DSC was lowered and bolted down. I am only making 639whp at 23psi. limited by the lpfp right now but I have that in hand, waiting to get the car back from paint.
I will be turning it up for WannaGoFast in November here in Texas.
hopefully 26-27psi.

Sorry for the rookie question but what’s DSC ?? 😅 and did you have to relocate the motor mount placement ? Thanks

No, you don’t have to relocate the motor mount. Dynamic Stability Control if I am not mistaken is what DSC stands for, basically just a fancy name for an ABS module.

Thanks a lot for the reply 🙏🏻 I’d like to go with the Doc Race Kit on mine ... just hoping it fits 🤞🏻

The Doc Race Kit manifold does not fit on the e60 chassis, I believe the engine mounts are the problem. And I personally have had issues with 2 doc race kits killing o2 sensors on e90 and e80 chassis’s.

From my Testing any top mount manifold will fit, its all the other Hot parts that will need to be custom (DP, Dump Tubes). Also as mentioned above ideally you want to relocate DSC, and AC lines, this will free up a ton of space for any custom work you need to do.

Assume all bottom mount Manifolds "Unless Custom" will not work due to the fact the engine mount sits right in place of where the turbo housing is located. I test fitted CES Motorsport (SteedSpeed) manifold and this was the case.

Relocation the DSC takes cutting and extending the harness moving it over to the driver side wheel well. This is how it sits in the E60 M5, there are brackets from BMW you can buy to mount it but does also take custom fittings and lines for re-connecting back to the original brake lines. I has seen people use a JPworks Manifold and push down the DSC but its a lot cleaner look if you can relocate everything that way your engine bay is not looking like a birds nest.

Find me on facebook. Ryan Kreimer

I just fit a doc kit to a 535i. Its not plug and play. I will mock one up and sell it to you.

As others have stated
-Abs has to be relocated or lowered . I lowered mine .
- ac line relocated
- bottom mounts will not clear unless custom because of the motor mount.
-custom waterpipe.
-Jp workz kit fits that’s the one I’m using .

For your ac line, how did you go about relocating it? It’s the one part I’m hung up on. Since I don’t want to evacuate the freon to make a custom line, if there is an easier way.
