Then get a one piece aluminum instead. It's a bit cheaper than CF and about as strong.

is DSS one piece aluminum?

I'm not a huge fan of CF either. CF itself is very strong but the glue binding it to the metal flanges on either side can break. then your badass driveshaft becomes a big rubber band

The problem with the m3 route is you'll burned up the clutches in the diff if you are making over 600wtq which is most of us with upgraded turbos. So if you go that route you'll have to swap the diff out which outs you around the same cost as the 8.8 kit. Me personally I'm going 8.8 since it's Damn near bulletproof for everything I'm going to throw at it and it has a massive aftermarket support

I've heard this is and is not the case. So which is it?

The pinions certainly break on the stock setups. I'e got a couple sheared ones in my garage right now. The driveshaft can fail on entirely stock dct cars Idk about the other trans options though.

Also would you really consider the ADE kit to be setup for drag only? Its got a mechanical LSD and independent rear suspension. Sounds more of a road course setup to me.

The pinion, as in the piece that is actually part of the differential? Or do you mean the very end of the driveshaft? Got a pic? I haven't seen a broken pinion yet and would be curious to see that.
