Why are M3, and M4 quicker in a 1/4 mile with less power than a tuned 335i ? Weight advantage ? Was watching some videos and I saw 425 h.p. M3s run quicker 1/4 mile times than 500 whp 335i ????

I'd like to believe its a drivetrain difference. Our entire drivetrain is garbage for dragging, the whole thing needs replaced or upgraded.

Our power curves are also junk for drag racing. They make power to redline, whereas our cars were tuned for better torque and response at the sacrifice of power up top.

Understood, but even tuned with a better curve and upgraded turbos making power to redline, its still not comparable. At least from what I have seen. There are a few not making tremendous power and putting down good times though. On another note, what would be a decent time and trap in a 1/4 for a E93 ? Not world record type shit, just an impressive time and trap ??

Pretty sure that low 11's is the world record, lol. At least N54 powered anyway.

That is highly dependent on who you're asking and the power you're making. @bdh is the fastest 335i E93 that I'm aware of but he sold his car. The vert is not a drag machine as you know, but I would say 11's would impress me.

But you could probably run 11's anywhere from 4xx hp up to 700 hp. If you want to set a good time, put on a 15" rear wheel with some sidewall and practice that way.

Thats kinda the point of this topic. Ive seen M3s with 19s and minimal mods running quick ! 335i just has issues to over come I guess ? Back to 1/4 mile E93. I understand swapping suspension parts, shocks, 15" wheels, slicks, etc. My question was more a 19", 20" wheel, tuned, daily driver type car. Not full on race / go for record type stuff. I searched but found very little on E93 times. Just looking for average , tuned, daily driver E93 times.

I'm curious to know as well. I have the F30 BBK which dictates I retain 19" wheels and I have no intention of swapping breaks to go to the drag strip. Dragging is not very high on my radar in the first place because as I like to say, doing that with a convertible is like a midget trying to be tall.

I think @jbgolf112 has ran 12's with upgraded twins and is single turbo now making mid 700's. I don't recall what tires he had on but he's manual and I'm pretty sure they were 17's. I think for us, the more interesting figure is the 1/2 mile traps.
