The G29 Z4 M40i was put on display yesterday at Peble Beach, although there were already some leaked photos of the car earlier this week.

If you liked the new 8 Seires design language, you won't be disapointed here as it shares the same interior styling as the new vehicles including BMW's Live Cockpit.

Sporting the B58 producing 382hp / 369 lb-ft this is the most powerful version of the B58 so far. Full specs come out in September, deliveries in Spring 2019 along with the introduction of the Z4 30i model with a 260 HP 4 cylinder motor, possibly the B48.

So why does this car have an ///M badge? WBS VIN or we are back to US 330is "M3" bullshit?

Furthermore, I don't understand how anyone can look at all the concept designs, then look at the final product and somehow think that carrying over a handful of cues maketh the car, "in the spirit of". To me the new Z4 looks clunkier than the E89, yet the concept car looked far more sleek. They carried over concept cues, and completely lost the overall increase in sleekness. What a shame - that was the best part of the design language of the concept work - the concept looked slippery. The new Z4 looks like a car with cues.

The photos are not particularly encouraging, but this may be an issue of having to see it in person.

It can't be that different. E89 top is aluminum with a headliner that is basically no more than a couple pounds. Both tops have the articulating steel arms, the Hydraulics, the glass window.
