Looking at the exhaust again. I am a little concerned about the loss in chassis strength with this setup. You are cutting a lot of the metal reinforcement for the front support rail.
I agree, after talking with some people it would be smart to box out some areas of the fender, or even a brace of some sort.

Thank you and yep it's running, I drive it for a day or two then put it back in the garage to install more stuff. Right now I'm doing the fueling then the 15s and it should be good enough to get it to Texas after a tune. Until then probably no videos lol tx2k is only 8 weeks away:disappointed:

what's the plan for regaining the chassis strength you lost by cutting the front rail support?

Small update, adjusted the downpipe and got it sitting perfectly where I wanted it was too flush before in my opinion. Haven't been messing with it much lately due to my power steering pulley breaking and starting to mess up the belt, very happy I noticed this before it ended up in the oil pan. Found a service bulletin on the ps pulley contacting the subframe for some cars and this seems to be that exact issue so I was kind of bummed but now it gave me a reason to order a new metal pulley and also install the vtt shotgun since its right there in that general area and the belt has to come off anyway.

Going to try and force myself to record most of the process of the shotgun install since there isn't much data on it yet. Only 8 weeks until tx2k which is my deadline for myself for getting some major things with the car done to include the vtt pump / 15s fitted / @Omar@VaderSolutions fuel pump setup and turbo snout and then tuned by @WedgePerformance. Getting down to the wire!

The metal pulley is only part of the solution, what motor mounts do you have? If you have the same sloppy mounts, that thing will still come in contact with the sub frame and if the pulley doesn't break, I would be afraid to know what does.

Yes I forgot to mention mounts are on the list as well thanks, also going to notch the subframe where it hits so I'll never have to worry about it again.

Wow this is awesome cant believe I missed it. That fab work on the exhaust looks great. Curious as to how loud this is with the side exit exhaust?

I mean its a little loud but nothing crazy, not as loud as hood dump or a shorter open downpipe dump. The length of the pipe really quiets it down since it gives it a deeper tone but then again I just came from a cammed/headers straight pipe vette so it's not loud to me I guess lol.

Before installing the shotgun I looked over all of the parts and the write up to get an idea of what it entails. One thing I quickly noticed was the size of the hose fitting meant for the coolant hose that goes to the heat exchanger (Auto guys only). Just looking at it I could tell it was too small so the wrong fitting was installed by vtt by mistake for hopefully me only. If you're auto and ordered a shotgun kit please check this fitting and make sure it's the right size. The fitting I recieved was 1/2 inch and you need a 3/4 T fitting. After getting the fitting I went ahead with the install by removing the plastic coolant tube as instructed and after getting the coolant hose for the heat exchanger off I noticed I was right. Not a big deal and a very simple fix and mistake just wanted to send a heads up for any auto guys.

I would rather install downpipes on an xi or order a manifold from you wish than do this shotgun install again. Huge headache but almost done I guess just have to run the fuel lines to the pump and put the belt back on.

Good to know. I'm auto, but I have a manual heater return core line since I deleted my trans cooler at the same time. This shouldn't apply to me but I'll double check later which parts I actually received. Thanks for the heads up.

I had the same issue with the trans cooler Tee. I shot Chris an email about it early in December, so hopefully it's fixed.

I was speaking with him over fb messenger about it He said it's the first he's seen, I took the coolant tube off and sent him pictures of what I was talking about and never got a response after that.

Ran into another wall during install, got the pump mounted and the fuel and coolant lines done so basically the "last" step was getting the belt on. I was under the impression that the kit would come would a slightly longer belt to accommodate for the extra pulley... I was wrong its noted that the stock belt included will work. While I see that yes it can work, why not include a longer belt that would be a better fit so you don't have to max out the tensioner in order to get the belt on. :rage: I was very close to having it on when I heard something snap, thought it was my breaker bar ended up being the tensioner itself if that's shows you how much tq is needed to get this belt on. New tensioner ordered and I'll be on the hunt for a longer belt and pn# for anyone else that would want to use it.

Oh wow, these shotgun kits have been in development since 2015... And they still can't simple things like belt and fittings correct...

Appreciate the honest update from you though.
